Governors Inn a Travelodge by Wyndham

Room ran about $100 first part of May; however, fitted sheet kept falling off the bed in the middle of the night and bed cover was not very appealing for comfort. Kleenex box fell right out of the wall. Hair left in the shower drain and it was stuck to the walls. Outlet missing cover. Curtain rod broken and pieces left in the room. The other room we had, the TV was broken and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut due to being broken all the way. Not the cleanest.

Breakfast was good. Room had not been cleaned very well, just needed a good vacuuming and the hide a bed was dirty. Could tell that had not been checked.

When we arrived the fellow greeting us seemed to be functioning as a child caregiver as well. There was a young girl (about 7 yrs old) there and the area inside the desk/check-in counter was messy, so not very professional.

I arrived about 11pm & the front desk attendant was new (she told me) & could not figure out how to check me in. I got to my room, used the bathroom right away-the toilet paper roll was empty, there were used towels hanging behind the door, there was a used plastic fork on the floor & the carpet definitely was not vacuumed. There were ants in the bathroom, too.

It was an adorable, historical hotel. Yes, some of it was older, but everything was clean. The staff was friendly. And despite us coming in at 9:30 to eat when the restaurant closed at 10:00, they still were friendly and served us.

Room was nice and clean but had other issues with it. Broken floor tiles in bathroom, peeling paint and burnt out light bulbs. Also the pool was ridiculously cold. Nobody was in it so the hot tub was packed.

The hallways leading to the rooms were filthy! I can say they probably hadn’t been vacuumed for a week or two. Disgusting! There were a couple cleaning supplies left in our room. When you lifted the toilet seat there was still poop still on the rim. Only two of the lights worked. The TV did not work. Door open to room where cleaning cart is left and vacuum just pushed right inside door with cord just thrown to floor, dirty cleaning towels still on cart. Was gross! We came in late after a very long day of driving or we would have left! So slept and got up and left. Could not imagine eating breakfast there after we saw how dirty the establishment was - wouldn’t have dared eat the food! Would never recommend anyone stay here until many upgrades done to cleanliness and maintenance of facility!

My brand-new pair of prescription Meta Sunglasses were stolen during my stay, on April 22, 2026, most likely by a Governor’s Inn employee or employees. Housekeeping staff would be my presumption. I do not recommend staying here unless you have nothing of value to lose.

The hot tub was not hot at all. The door seal was terrible so stuff blew in under the door and floor was gritty. Toilet was not adult sized and bathroom needed work. Beds were well used not comfortable. Would not stay again.
