GeMei Hotel (Kashgar Ancient City Scenic Area)

The service was great, and the place was clean and hygienic. It's super close to Kashgar Old City, just over 500 meters to the East Gate, where you can directly watch the 10:30 AM opening ceremony. They even offer complimentary breakfast, and there's a computer and printer available for use on the first floor, which is really convenient for work. Given the affordable price, it's definitely highly recommended!

Extended my stay for another day. The hotel is located right across from the ancient city, making it very convenient to visit the Old Town and Gaotai residential complex. The hotel has a courtyard-style layout, so some rooms have inner windows – something to keep in mind when choosing your room. It seems the rooms on the sides have wall-mounted air conditioning, which isn't as effective as the central AC in the middle rooms.

The location is pretty good, right opposite the ancient city. It's about a 10-minute walk into the ancient city itself. For parking, there's a large car park at Kunlun Tower. **Cleanliness:** The room was very clean and comfortable. We went to breakfast late, so most of the food was gone. There are many fast-food restaurants nearby, so the location is great! **Environment:** Also good!

The hotel's location is a bit tricky, as cars can't reach the entrance directly due to surrounding barriers. Our GPS struggled to pinpoint the exact spot. We were given an upgraded room, but the smoke smell was overwhelming. We thought opening the small window in the afternoon would air it out, but it was just as strong when we returned at night. It felt like the smoke had permeated everything in the room, and I barely slept all night. Ugh.

Arriving in Kashgar Old City, I booked the Gemme Hotel (Old City Scenic Area Branch) for my first night. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the east gate of the Old City. The room facilities are smart, and the staff respond quickly. Breakfast was quite good with a wide variety of options. It offers great value for money. I originally planned to stay only one night, but ended up extending my stay for five more nights.
