Chakrabongse Villas

Lovely boutique hotel by the river. Great staff ! Chakrabongse Villas is a special place. The River View Suite was especially wonderful and spacious. Private Breakfast was excellent. While we ate on the banks of the Chao Praya, we could see Wat Arun temple. I wish, I could stay there a few nights next year! It's so amazing! I recommend the owner: 1) add Dinner room service 2) Improve this problem:The suite is soundproofed, so at night you can hear the noise of the boat engines.

Beautiful little rooms, villa grounds in a fabulous area on river. Quirky / tranquil rooms. Pool lovely warm and clean. Great coffee and tea basket. Noise.of bird amazing but annoying when you're trying to sleep! Breakfast very filling and fresh. Ask them not to bring it all at once as it got cold the first morning. Lady on reception walks o You around the grounds in check in...leave your bag n reception as we nearly passed out and she didn't advise to leave there.

Built in 1908, the villa served as the residence for one of the sons of King Rama V. About 20 years ago it was converted into a boutique hotel. If you would like an antidote to big modern hotels this is the place, and as a regular visitor to Bangkok we would say the by far the best place we have stayed. The attached pictures show much of the story, but just to add we booked a suite which was large and very comfortable. Unlike the big hotels, breakfast is actually served and whilst it may not have the most extensive choices it was perfectly good whilst sitting on the terrace looking out at the world going by on the river. We would return in a heartbeat.

What an amazing hotel. It’s centrally located near some of Bangkok’s biggest sites, but it feels like a peaceful oasis. The rooms were comfortable and had a Thai flair. The grounds were absolutely beautifully landscaped with a view of the river and Wat Arun. Ohm and the team could not have been kinder. They were very accommodating whenever there was an issue, and Ohm gave us some good suggestions for the area. Breakfast at the hotel was amazing. We just wish we would have stayed for dinner!

This is a small boutique hotel within walking distance of the Reclining Buddha and the Grand Palace. There is a wide choice of restaurants nearby. The hotel is a calm oasis with beautiful gardens and swimming pool. We loved having breakfast overlooking the river watching the boats go by. You can also see the Wat Arun. The staff are very attentive. Our room was upstairs in the Thai Garden View room - (not suitable for persons with mobility difficulties). A pleasant room surrounded by trees and felt very private. A bit dark inside and could do with brighter ceiling lights. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here.

Wonderful quiet oasis in the heart of Bangkok's tourist center. A few rooms/villas nestled in a park-like setting facing the river, Wat Arun right across. The moment the gate shuts behind you, birds replace the sounds of the city and everyone seems to want to make the entire experience nothing but pleasant and relaxing. "Ohm" took fantastic, personal care of us, "Natt" added a very personal touch to the superb dinner experience. The river-view villa was comfortable, the front room an unexpected little haven. A variety of seating outside with views of temples, the river, and at night bats above. Right in the city and yet seemingly so removed. Breakfast was a perfect start for every day and our trip to Thailand, the pool an opportunity to refresh each morning.

In 1891, the last Tsar of Russia visited Siam and impressed with the great hospitality provided by the Thai Royal Family. In return Tsar Nicholas II invited Prince Chakrabongse to study in St. Petersburg and stayed in the Palace. Nowadays the legacy is continued at Chakrabongse Palace. As a Royal guesthouse, it offers courteous service. Khun Ohm makes our stay an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience. He helped us to watch the Royal Barge together with the descendants of Prince Chakrabongse. Everyone at the Palace went extra miles to ensure our stay was a memorable one, even before we checked in. Ms. Atom helped me to keep the book about Tsar Nicholas II that I bought online. My biggest regret is only being able to stay for one night because this is a work trip. But for sure if next time I'm having a holiday in Bangkok, I'll come back again to this Palace
