Alegria Colonial Mar Mar Aquafun

Family of 4 from the UK, kids aged 3 and 6. When we arrived the reception was heaving, this was because the hotel accepts day trippers who were basically in the way of actual guests. We got the apartment straight away though. The apartment is massive and we couldn't fault it. Had everything we needed and please note the apartments are the only quiet rooms in the entire complex. Pools are brilliant no issues, the bins are also full and it can get dirty and busy but they are cleaned. Spanish kids are running everything and it can get crazy from time to time. Restaurant is utter chaos at all times. Its just a shambles in terms of layout, its a scrum. Not relaxing and plates are hardly ever cleared. We quite liked the food we always found something. The food truck is good, kids enjoyed that. For all inclusive the drinks are poor. 3 cocktails, no bottled beer and paper cups. Its a very Spanish hotel, and I can speak some Spanish but we never felt included or properly welcomed at any point. Towels are down before 9 o clock every morning. Entertainment for our kids is far too late, 9.30pm. Surrounding area is pleasant we walked to the mall and aquarium and there are a few shops. Its a 15 min walk to the marina. We had a nice holiday but we wont be returning.

We have just returned from our week at Alegria Colonial Mar Aquafun and what a brilliant week we have had. After reading some of the recent reviews of the hotel we were a little apprehensive but there was no need to be. Our room was large, clean and spacious. We received fresh towels every day and the beds were made every day. Every member of staff we came across were polite and helpful. The pools and slides were fantastic and kept our 11 and 8 year old children busy for hours a day. The pools were clean and well maintained. The quieter pool was also great and offered some shade during the afternoon if you wanted a break from the sun. There wasn't a race for sunbeds every morning however if you want to guarantee sunbeds for the day you would need to get your towels down before 9am. I would say the food was average for an all inclusive. We managed to find multiple things that each person liked at every meal time, every day. I would just advise getting there within the first hour of opening times if you want to avoid a queue. The entertainment was good each night, we especially enjoyed the bingo and magician and my son enjoyed playing football in the evenings with a large group of others. Overall we have had a fantastic holiday!

Please ignore the negative reviews, as I feel these are unfair. I read so many prior to visiting that I was anxious but I needn't have been. We travelled as a family of four , and had a great time . Our apartment was huge, clean and the slides were great fun . Yes the restaurant is busy but there is always somewhere to sit and plenty to eat. Food truck in the day is great too. Our kids are very fussy but never went hungry . Staff work very hard and were very welcoming and all spoke English . Yes a majority of the guests are Spanish because the hotel is based in Spain? I find this a very bizarre thing to complain about. Beach was great and the water crystal clear. Pool loungers did get reserved early but we always had one so this wasn't an issue either . On the whole a great family holiday

I don't usually do reviews but after worrying myself after reading bad ones on here I thought it's best I should. Firstly the hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. (Especially the happy team and the man that does aqua aerobics is brilliant) Rooms cleaned everyday without fail very spacious and clean and the aircon does work... Setting 1 is the highest not setting 3 so keep that in mind. I had to knock it off through the night as we were freezing so can't complain on that part. Food isn't the best but you'll always find something its all inclusive and just like any other in my eyes. Breakfast is the best out of all three. It was far too busy and I think they need to sort this out and all the staff and guests get in your way. We didn't bother with lunch as we just done the food truck which we all loved! Hot dogs chips pizza and doughnuts were our favorite. We ate out a few nights and went to the shopping mall up the road. Bar staff were amazing you can get as many bottles of water as you like and you can get a big bottle if you ask. The ice creams/ ice lollies were amazing kids loves these and so did the adults you can have as many as you want. I see loads complaining about disco starting at 9.30 I mean you are on holiday does it matter seriously? We all had an afternoon nap before getting ready for the night so we were fine and our youngest is 4 years old. Pool area was good especially the slides for the kids. Only downfall is you need to be up around 7.45 to get beds otherwise you have no where to lay down. Your wristband is your room key which I thought was brilliant as you never had to worry where your key was if you were going back to the room. They take €10 each as a deposit and you get this back when you check out. As for the safe it's rent only so you don't get any money back for that but we didn't bother with one. Would I stay here again.... No but we all enjoyed ourselves which is the main thing.

We are still here and have one full day to go. I just don’t understand all the negative reviews. Yes alot of Spanish tourists but we are in Spain. The Spanish children have been amazing at playing football and all children have been playing together from whatever country they are from. My son is neurodiverse and again everyone has been absolutely brilliant with their awareness and acceptance. If you speak to reception about any adjustments you may need, they will gladly help. If you don’t make them aware they can’t help. Yes sunbeds they say no one can put their towels down early, but they have let people. It’s the sunbeds with the umbrellas that go early. Food has been ok! It is not just all beige. I would definitely come back here 💯 and I am going to let everyone know this hotel is amazing.
