Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro

The hotel is wonderful, like any other hotel in this chain. The mattresses are like a cloud, the food is delicious, the pool is warm, and the ocean is across the street—with sun loungers, umbrellas, and towels. We stayed in a club room; the lounge is decent, the food is delicious and filling, and there's also unlimited alcohol in the evening. The only drawback is the huge bay behind the hotel, and the smell of seaweed in it was a bit off at first. I can't say it ruined our vacation, but we weren't aware of it in advance and weren't prepared. Rio's main attractions (the Christ the Redeemer Statue and Sugarloaf Mountain) are about an hour away by Uber. Round-trip fares are about 200-300 reais (depending on the time of day; early morning is cheaper than rush hour).

A dream location, nothing to add.

As expected of a five-star hotel, the facilities are comprehensive, the swimming pool is beautiful, the staff are highly professional, and the stay was excellent. The hotel is located by the sea, offering uniquely beautiful views!

The Atlantic Ocean is right outside the window, and the rolling waves and the birds and airplanes flying overhead are a beautiful sight in themselves. There are bicycles available for free rent for 2 hours outside the hotel, and riding along the dedicated bike path along the shore would be very pleasant, but unfortunately I didn't have time to try it.

First of all, there is no need to book a room with breakfast with Ctrip. A room for two people costs more than 700 yuan, and breakfast for one person in the hotel only costs 150 yuan. The lobby service staff had a very bad attitude: there were obviously rooms available but they told me that there were no more rooms. They gave me a room with no view and a very bad room. The bed and quilt were all damp.
