Baan Hmon-Oon

This is a lovely place to stay. It's my second time here, and I always want to book it, but it gets fully booked too quickly.

My friend recommended this guesthouse, and it's right next to the Chiang Mai University night market. Getting anywhere from here is quite convenient. The owner, Sue, is wonderful – very thoughtful and attentive. I stayed in a room on the first floor, which was very clean 👍. However, I imagine the rooms on the second floor would get better sunlight. It was a great stay, and I'd choose this place again next time! It's an excellent option if you're traveling with a group; you can all relax outside, have tea, and chat.

The room was spacious and very clean. I'd definitely want to stay here again next time. We had to switch rooms mid-stay because of availability, but the staff handled it very efficiently. It's super convenient as it's right in front of the Chiang Mai University night market. Plus, the landlord was really enthusiastic. They even have two cute little cats! And they gave us a small gift when we left.

It's conveniently located right next to Chiang Mai University, making it easy to get to Doi Suthep. Nimmanhaemin Road is about a 20-minute walk away, and there's a 7-Eleven and a night market right outside.

The room was quite spacious and comfortable. The hotel also has a lovely little garden, which felt very cozy. I'd recommend staying here, and I loved the hotel's cats – they're super friendly and love to cuddle!

Ctrip recommended this guesthouse, but it's a real rip-off; you can't even find it on navigation. It's very old. The only upside is that it's clean and hygienic. But for these conditions and this location, charging over 300 baht in Chiang Mai is a scam for Chinese tourists. 200 baht would already be generous.

Pros: It's a quiet oasis in a bustling area, with a great location and easy access to dining. There are restaurants and a supermarket right outside, and a night market next to the supermarket in the evenings. It's about a 20-minute walk to Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center and Nimmanhaemin Road, making dining and shopping very convenient. Cons: While the exterior of the house looks nice, the interior facilities are old. The sheets and duvet covers look like they've been used for four or five years and are almost black. There isn't even a towel rack in the bathroom, and the curtains are disgustingly dirty. The lighting is very dim, with a few worn-out light bulbs. Other reviews mentioned good service, but I didn't experience any service at all; I didn't even see any staff. The day before check-in, Trip.com called me twice to confirm if I could arrive by 5 PM. The courtyard is nicely decorated, and there's a cafe inside the courtyard that serves as the front desk, but its main door is always closed.
