Nami Island Hotel Jeonggwanru

Jeonggwanru is a hotel operating within Nami Island. I stayed in the main building, Jeonggwanru, and the hotel seemed to have over 40 rooms, which felt ample. I also noticed that they operate separate private accommodations like the Condo Villa and Tutu Villa, so you can book according to your preference. It's located about a 15-20 minute walk from Nami Island's main pier. If you call the hotel after arriving on the island, they'll quickly come to pick you up at the pier (with a 16-seater vehicle). They also offer a drop-off service to the pier upon request when checking out. There's a staff member on duty at the front desk even in the early morning. There's a cafe/restaurant on the first floor. Breakfast is optional, costing around 10,000 to 15,000 KRW, and is available from 8:30 AM. The restaurant tends to close a bit early in the evening. There's a swimming pool, but it's not open daily, so it's best to check beforehand if you plan to use it (12,000 KRW for guests). Most shops on the island start closing after 5 PM, but there's a 24-hour unmanned convenience store a short walk from the hotel, so you don't have to worry about going hungry. The room was generally clean and didn't feel cramped. The heating/cooling and water worked well. Instead of a TV, there were many books available to read, and I liked that each room had a balcony. Considering its unique location, the accommodation fee was quite reasonable. I particularly enjoyed being able to take a leisurely stroll around Nami Island when it was empty, before going to bed and in the early morning.

I booked this place hoping for a quiet and healing getaway. The natural scenery was beautiful, and the accommodation itself was clean and nice, but the soundproofing is terrible. Because of the inconsiderate couple on the second floor, it turned into the worst stay experience. If you're sensitive to noise, I highly recommend booking another place.

I checked in on Sunday and checked out after one night. The surrounding scenery was absolutely stunning, and there weren't many people around, so it felt like I had the entire place to myself during my walk. It was so relaxing, and the walking trails were fantastic. I honestly feel like coming back every year, in different seasons. The nearby restaurants were also great value for money and exceeded my expectations.

The soundproofing is absolutely terrible. On top of that, even though I had a reservation, they acted like there was some mistake with it. They eventually showed me to a room because it was late, saying they'd check later and get back to me. Then, they kept banging on my door. The room was also incredibly small, and the bed was rock-hard and uncomfortable. When I checked out, they apologized, saying another staff member had written down my name incorrectly, which caused the reservation mix-up. But the way they explained it, like some neighborhood auntie, was really off-putting. I rarely leave reviews, but seriously, for the amount you'd pay to stay here, you're better off finding somewhere else. Oh! And the pickup service... I called 3-4 times, and no one ever picked up. Just walk to the hotel. They advertised a pickup service, but it just doesn't work.
