Yuanli Homestay (Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower Beilin Museum)

I rarely write reviews, but this booking brought an unexpectedly good experience. The hotel's design is very tasteful, the room is clean, and the bedding is super comfortable. The toiletries provided are very comprehensive. The hotel also excels in small details; for example, many lanterns are hung on the trees outside, which looks beautiful at night. It's directly facing the city wall, with several bars nearby, making it a prime location. The front desk staff personally delivered our takeout, which was incredibly thoughtful, and there's even a complimentary late-night snack service. The hotel's facilities convey the luxury of a grand hotel, while the service provides a warm feeling. We'll definitely visit again if we have the chance! P.S. The hotel's private chef makes excellent food; even outsiders come specifically to eat here, so it's worth a try!

The location is excellent, within walking distance to Shuyuanmen and very close to the Bell and Drum Towers, making it super convenient for getting around. The room decor is stylish, clearly reflecting the owner's aesthetic. In the evenings, they offer a sweet nightcap, and in the afternoon, you can try your hand at making sachets – these little touches really add to the experience. Although smoking is prohibited in the rooms, I could still smell cigarette smoke wafting out when I first opened the door, so I'd suggest the hotel consider adding some air fresheners. There was a slight hiccup during check-in: the front desk staff led us to our room, but it was literally just 'leading the way.' My husband had to carry both large suitcases by himself, as the staff didn't offer to help. After swiping the card at the room door, they didn't even bother to hold the door open. It felt like their proactive service awareness could use some improvement in this area. However, the front desk staff's performance at check-out was the complete opposite. Not only did they give us a souvenir, but they also proactively helped us load our luggage into the car. So, overall, it seems like an issue with individual staff training rather than the hotel's overall service standard. Also, there's a restaurant right downstairs, but unfortunately, we woke up too late and missed breakfast, which was a bit of a shame. If you're visiting Xi'an, staying here is very convenient due to its location.

My trip to Xi'an this time, I stayed at this guesthouse for three days and felt incredibly relaxed. Simple breakfast, comfortable environment. In the evening, after returning, I could even sit by the roadside outside, at the foot of the city wall, and enjoy a cold brew tea. The room had a natural wood style, and all the amenities were well-designed, making me not want to leave. I'll definitely come back next time! [blush emoji] The guesthouse offers free sachet making, and the faint herbal scent lingering on my fingertips was a delightful way to treat myself. If you get tired of all the noodles and 'mó' (steamed buns) outside, you can easily try their private kitchen. The dishes are clean and meticulously prepared.
