A Complete Operational Failure – Not Worth the 5-Star Rating!
The only redeeming factor of Hilton Kuala Lumpur is its location opposite KL Sentral. Beyond that, my recent stay with my daughter was a parade of poor service, substandard maintenance, and baffling design choices.
Upon our arrival at 6:35 PM, the bell staff attempted to stack all four of our bags onto a single trolley, dropping them in the process. Despite bright "FRAGILE" stickers on every bag, the handling was completely reckless.
Standard check-in is 3:00 PM, yet our room was still not ready almost four hours later. They offered a minimally upgraded room instead, but when our luggage arrived, the staff had once again stacked all four bags on one trolley—defying explicit instructions I gave directly to the Duty Manager; Mr Hamdan. To make matters worse, the porter seemed too sure of himself and flaunted his capability of juggling luggage rather than apologizing and following instructions.
Opening the toilet door revealed an unbearable sewage stench. With a dinner reservation to catch, we were forced to request a room change on the fly and leave management to move our bags while we were out.
While the replacement room was larger, the shower suffered from standing water issues, and the room slippers appeared recycled, featuring noticeable gray discoloration on the heels. Additionally, the main sink mirror is offset at an awkward angle—an impractical design choice that forces you to lean uncomfortably to use it.
Regarded as a "Lake View," the water feature is far off in the distance. The immediate view is of the local police headquarters, resulting in non-stop sirens from police cars and ambulances throughout the day and night.
For a 5-star brand, this level of service and room maintenance is entirely unacceptable. Save your money and book elsewhere.
