Cap Rocat, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

My wife and I have visited Spa’s all over the world and have experienced both good and bad. This falls somewhere in the middle. Let’s start with the facilities. The whole place is like something from a fairy tale, and is extremely worthy of the 5 star rating for this alone. Where it lets itself down. 1. The staff do jut enough and aren’t overly friendly or attentive. You are left to your own devices, we weren’t shown around and didn’t really feel welcomed. 2. The Massage wasn’t anything special and didn’t reflect the price. It’s an experience that I’m glad we did, if for nothing other than the facilities.

We just checked out of this beautiful hotel. One MAJOR issue - our $6000 plus’s per night room had not air Xo dictionary when we checked in Mallorca is extremely hot. I told the staff when we walked in our room it was not working and they could address it when we went to our late dinner on premises. We returned to a scalding hot room. We called again with the expectation they would change our room. They instead offered to send maintenance at now midnight - if they could not fix it during dinner and did not change our room - why would they invite them at midnight after a 12 plus hour travel day. We sweated through the night. They finally fixed the next day. When I checked out I told the manager I would not pay for that night. He blamed us for letting them know too late - I told him about our complaint when they put us in the room. He then blamed us for not allowing a crew in at midnight. They took 10 percent off that night - joke. I get it - things happen, but for 6000 plus a night - you address the issue immediately, switch rooms or worst case, refund the night. For a hotel of this quality - the manager was rude and not helpful. Plenty of beautiful spots to stay in Mallorca. Part of what you pay so much for is for issues like this to be immediately resolved with humility and kindness. Not arrogance and attitude. Skip this place.

The strict policy is not very nice. We appreciate your punctuality ”If you have an unexpected event and you will be delayed for more than 15 minutes, please call us at :tel to prevent us from canceling your table. On the contrary, if you arrive more than 30 minutes before with respect to the time of your reservation, we can not guarantee your access to the hotel, in order to ensure optimal quality in our service.” We have been therefore many times but now the service and the ambiance is gone. We had lunch at the Sea Club. The food was ok, not more. The staff was all self concerned and it felt unprofessional. We were not welcome to have a drink at the bar/reception at the hotel. Sorry to say - but Cap Rocat has lost it and we will never go back. Nor will we recommend our friends to go there. Mayor disappointment.

I was very excited to meet friends and family here for a catch up and my experience was just awful. My plane arrived early so we arrived an hour before our table. We asked to sit in the bar and were told we were not aloud in until our reservation, we asked to wait in the car park and we were told we had to wait on the road outside until our allotted time. When we finally got in to the bar (which was empty) we had to wait over an for drinks and were seated 15 minutes late for our table and had to wait almost an hour to order any drink of food. Service was terrible, staff were rude.. and since they were so stringent on our arrival time I expected them to run at a timely pace. This is a 5 star establishment and the service should reflect that. Food was fairly mediocre and with the service alongside that I would highly suggest you eat somewhere else. Dreadful There are so many beautiful spots to eat and drink at, avoid this one at all costs!

Pros - amazing spa staff and masseuse (Annika is next level), great and creative bartenders and bar (with live music that is really good), delicious breakfast, fabulous golf cart and transport staff - Lisa was a great welcome. Amazing spot for privacy. Unique Location and views. Mehs -not as high-end as it tries to be. Missed opportunities – only 30 rooms is great – but the hotel restaurant allows other visitors – so you don’t get the time you want or any sort of priority. It is quite secluded – the gym and spa pool are amazing, but it would be nice to have more than just a yoga class in the mornings. There are no schedules or maps to help you with that. The amenities in the bathroom are fine – but again, perhaps based on social media, you would expect more. Full disclosure – we went to the Belmond before we arrived here, and that is one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed at - so maybe this isn’t the most fair comparison.

This is an AMAZING property built into an old fort on a hillside. Truly 5 star service, amazing room.
