Perhentian Island Resort

The beach in front of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Even though it's a public area and there were island-hopping tourists around, it didn't bother us at all. Fadln, a waiter in the restaurant, was incredibly friendly and kind. My child doesn't eat seafood, and the only dish he really liked – a clear beef stew – was out of stock. Fadln apologized sincerely and managed to make amends. He even offered to comp our dinner, but I didn't accept; I didn't want to make things difficult for him over that. However, the front desk staff really need to improve their efficiency. After checking out, I realized I'd left a complete tea set in the room. The staff tried to sort it out over the phone for 20 minutes without success. Eventually, I had to raise my voice and tell her to follow me to retrieve it. When we got there, the room door wasn't even closed. It took less than three minutes to get it done. That was a minor hiccup, but overall, this resort is definitely worth staying at.

The Perhentian Islands in Malaysia are a true paradise, easily earning the title of the 'Malaysian Maldives.' I chose the Perhentian Island Resort, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The hotel is located on the main Perhentian island, right on the edge of a lagoon with crystal-clear turquoise waters. Nearby, there's a picturesque coral reef and a pristine white sand beach adorned with palm trees, reminiscent of exotic 'Bounty' advertisements. Guests are offered secluded bungalows with terraces, most of which boast panoramic sea views. The hotel grounds feature a well-maintained swimming pool and a tennis court. Despite their simplicity, the rooms are equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The buffet breakfasts cater to a wide range of tastes and national preferences, offering fresh and delicious dishes. The hotel is also home to a variety of wildlife: you can spot squirrels, monitor lizards, newts, frogs, and bats. But the real treat was observing a family of spectacled langurs, who seemed to be enjoying their vacation in this natural haven too! The very next day after arriving, I went on a snorkeling tour, which allowed me to see the island from different angles, including other hotels and beaches inaccessible from the shore. Subsequent walks around the island, exploring its jungle, checking out other accommodations, and even visiting a neighboring islet, firmly convinced me that choosing Perhentian Island Resort was the right decision. The beach, the prevailing peace and quiet, and the comfortable atmosphere—it's pure bliss! I will definitely be back!

This hotel, priced at over 500, offers views of Perhentian Island that are worth every penny, while the hotel itself feels more like a 50-dollar establishment. Perhentian Island is breathtakingly beautiful, and I spent a relaxing three days there. Everywhere I went was picturesque, and I still can't stop thinking about it since returning home. It's definitely a great place for a vacation. However, the hotel facilities are very basic. On the first day of my stay, I found a broken light, and it took a worker over an hour to fix it. This kind of issue should be resolved before guests check in, and it was quite a negative experience. The bed felt a bit damp, so I'd recommend bringing disposable bedding. The breakfast at the island's restaurant was decent, and you can also have lunch and dinner there. The food is standard but quite affordable.

Hello! The hotel looks quite solid from the outside, but that's just the exterior! The bungalows themselves are TERRIBLE inside! There's hardly any furniture, what little there is is very old, the rooms are extremely dirty, the insides of the bungalows are gnawed at the bottom by animals, and tourists are constantly chasing insects out of their rooms! They seem to try and maintain the grounds, but the rooms are simply horrible and derelict. Unfortunately, I don't have many photos because we fled to a neighboring hotel the very next day!

The hotel's facilities are quite old and not well-maintained. Its biggest selling point is the long, beautiful white sand beach right outside the hotel. To the left of the pier, there are many beautiful fish and marine life among the reefs, making it perfect for relaxing and unwinding. However, the room facilities are very poor, essentially on par with an old, small hotel. The hotel pool water was also very dirty and felt completely unmaintained. The value for money is okay though.
