Modern, Clean, and Spacious Rooms in Otaru
The GRID Hotel Otaru is a great choice. It's clearly a new establishment, and the modern design is evident throughout the lobby and rooms. The most outstanding aspect was the room size—it was much bigger than standard Japanese hotel rooms, which was a huge bonus! Everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. A very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We stayed at Grids Premium Otaru as a family of three in a room with three beds, and the space was very good by Japanese standards. We loved the vibes of this new hotel — the lobby is very cozy, and the overall atmosphere made our stay extremely comfortable.
The location is excellent, within walking distance from Otaru Station, Otaru Canal, and nearby attractions. From our room, we enjoyed beautiful scenery overlooking the Otaru Canal and the sea. It was snowing during our stay, which made the view even more magical and memorable.
The room is well equipped with a good air system, allowing us to choose between heating or air
conditioning. The windows can be opened slightly for ventilation, which we really appreciated. The beds were soft and very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest for all of us. The shower, toilet, and sink are all separated, which made it very convenient for everyone to use.
We also enjoyed the onsen in the hotel. Although it is small, it feels cozy and relaxing. The outdoor onsen is a highlight — open to the sky, allowing us to enjoy the falling snow at the same time. Access to the onsen is secure, as the doors only open when tapped with the correct men’s or women’s room card, which made us feel safe and reassured.
The hotel also provides practical facilities, including two washer-and-dryer machines and two microwaves on Level 1, which were very convenient during our stay. A Lawson convenience store is located right next door, making it easy to grab snacks or necessities anytime.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay here and would highly recommend Grids Premium Otaru, especially for families looking for a comfortable, well-located, and modern hotel in Otaru.

Everything from check-in to check-out went very smoothly! The instructions that the staff gave us and the signs were very easy to understand. The location was also amazing, a less than 10 min walk from Otaru station and easily accessible to the Otaru canal, main shopping street, etc. The bath was also very nice! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless – even the windows were incredibly clean and clear. The service was excellent, and the front desk offered Chinese-speaking staff. The hot spring bath on the 11th-floor rooftop was amazing. I'd love to come back again!

Hotel at a good location, convenient. Rooms were abit small but functional and is well equipped, has clean towels and nice bed. Breakfast has few selection but okay and have croissants/danishes.

The hotel service was excellent, and the facilities were modern and clean. The room had a smart wet-and-dry separation in the bathroom, which was very considerate. There was a small shower room, and also a large communal bath for soaking, plus a steam room. It was incredibly relaxing to unwind there after a long day of sightseeing. Thumbs up! 👍🏻 There are plenty of dining options nearby, and it's not far from the main street. You can even see the ocean from the room.

I didn't expect the rooms in this small town to be so tiny. The two beds were practically touching, with no space in between. Laundry was more expensive than at Dormy Inn, and there were only two machines, which meant a long wait. Each cycle also took two hours.
