We were in the 3rd villa and this is the most amazing view that we have ever had on this island, and we have lived in 5 different hotels and we have something to compare with. Very spacious villa with high ceilings with a bathroom overlooking the sea, it's amazing. Breakfasts were a choice, we tried 4 different sets, so to speak, they are for an amateur, delicious cappuccino. We recommend this hotel because of the view, it's amazing.

This was our fourth visit to Koh Mak but our first time here and it certainly won’t be the last now that we have discovered it. The bungalow was huge, probably one of the most spacious on the island, large bedroom, large bath by the window yet private, shower and separate loo. A fabulous veranda with stunning views as well as chairs and sun loungers and serviced every day. The place was immaculately clean, well maintained and appointed with large bed and quality bedding. The beach and lawn were attractive and again well maintained with sun beds, a shower and kayaks. Breakfast was superb with everything you could wish for and the restaurant is popular with visitors as well as it has a very good reputation. We ate here every evening for ten days as there was so much choice and thoroughly enjoyed every meal. The real secret of this place to us was the wonderful staff who were so friendly and we got to know so well and had fun with. The power house there is a charming lady called Jill who manages the place who can fix anything or advise you on trips etc. she arranged scooters and in house massages for us which were superb. It’s a great quiet location yet close to everything and the most amazing people, thank you for such a great time.

We were really looking forward to Little Moon Villas based on its online presence, but the reality on site was disappointing. For a price of almost $200 USD per night, one expects a certain level of quality and hospitality – both of which were sorely lacking here. The accommodation: Poor design and maintenance issues. The villas are marketed as "beachfront," which is simply misleading. The beach is over 100 meters away. The bungalows themselves are large, but completely illogical in their design: No weather protection: The terrace has no roof, so you have to flee indoors immediately in the strong Thai sun or at the slightest rain shower. Air conditioning: It hangs in the bedroom directly above the bed (unpleasant draft), while the bathroom isn't air-conditioned at all. Condition: The complex appears neglected. The paint is peeling in many places, and ants are coming out of the drainpipes. Cleanliness and service: The hygiene left much to be desired. Clumps of hair were left in the shower for days. Even more disappointing was the service: The staff (with the exception of one young Cambodian woman) are extremely taciturn. A simple "Good morning" seems to be too much to ask. The owners spend almost all their time behind the counter and avoid contact with the guests. Anyone working in the hotel industry should master the most basic customs of hospitality. Location and surroundings: The location is anything but attractive. The beach here is not nice. To get around, you have to rent a scooter. The return trip at night is in complete darkness on unlit roads. Particularly bothersome: The neighbor's aggressive dogs, which sometimes keep you awake for hours with their howling. The only positive: The restaurant's cuisine is commendable. The selection is good and the food is good, even if you have to be a bit patient (slow food?). Conclusion: In this price range, there are significantly better options on Ko Mak that impress with both location and service. The Little Moon Villas offer disproportionate value for money. Not recommended.

The hotel is very isolated, with no restaurants or shops nearby, forcing you to eat all your meals at the hotel restaurant, unless you rent a scooter for the duration of your stay. The staff is attentive and quite helpful. The beach is dirty, the sand is earthy, with lots of rubbish and debris strewn across the ground. The sea is not pleasant, with numerous banks of land, rubbish, and very little depth making swimming very unpleasant. The rooms are spacious, but there is no furniture or storage cupboard, not even a rod or rack to hang hangers on. There is just a coat rack. So you are forced to leave your clothes in your suitcase or backpack. This is a really big problem when you stay there, like we did for a week, and of course there is no safe in the room. The sink area of the bathroom is not lit, and there is just a small mirror placed behind the sink, forcing you to do gymnastics to see your face. On the other hand, there is a large bathtub in the entrance which is completely useless. In the bedroom there is no curtain to hide the upper windows, as a result you are woken up by the daylight every morning from 6 a.m. The restaurant offers dishes at quite high prices. The dishes are quite generous, but rather greasy and salty and are really nothing exceptional. Breakfast is served at the table and must be ordered the day before, it is quite generous, but pastries and espresso are extra. The island of Koh Mak is very small (about 5 km x 7 km). There are only two sandy beaches where you can swim about 6 km from the hotel, it is around one of them that shops, hotels and restaurants are grouped. Unfortunately, there's almost no dry sand due to rising water levels. Despite regular cleaning of these two beaches by an association, there's still a lot of trash washed in by the tides. Trusting the positive reviews of the hotel and the island of Koh Mak, we wasted a week in a hotel and an island that had absolutely no interest.

The most beautiful property found on our trip to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. The apartments are extremely spacious, well furnished with spectacular views of the bay from the bedroom or the spacious terrace. Breakfast is good even if limited to sets to be ordered the day before (served at the table, no buffet). The restaurant is also good. The sea is not that of other islands but this is Koh Mak and it has its own magic. Scooter rental on site (necessary to get around the island), everything is still very close. Enjoy the view from your apartment in peace and relaxation.
