Beyond Kata

I booked a premium room for 4 nights, around 1700 [currency not specified]. I was worried at first because I read reviews saying it would be noisy. When checking in, I told the Chinese-speaking lady at the front desk that I wanted a quiet room, and to my surprise, they gave me a room with a sea view, and it was very quiet. Definitely avoid talking to the older woman; I saw reviews saying that even if you tip her in advance for a quiet room, she won't arrange it. Sometimes she's at breakfast registering room numbers or at the front desk. I accidentally broke a plate during breakfast, and I asked her to help clean it up, apologizing. She just rolled her eyes and ignored me completely. I was even willing to pay for it; I was just worried someone else would get cut. The hotel's twin beds can be combined into one huge bed, big enough for three people. A short walk to the left of the hotel beach, you can learn to surf, which my child did for two consecutive days – very convenient. There are massage shops, a snack street, and a 7-Eleven right outside the hotel.

The room was pretty much exactly as shown in the video – quite spacious. We added an extra bed for the kids for two nights, which cost an additional 300 yuan. The surrounding area is great; it's very close to a snack street, and the hotel has its own beach right there. The kids had an absolute blast, and the beach was very clean. The picture shows the beach right at the hotel, and there were lifeguards present. Overall, it was good value for money. The only downside was a very strong musty smell in the room. It was overpowering, and opening the windows or lighting incense didn't help at all.

Special thanks to Jennie at the front desk for giving us a great room facing the sea, on a high floor with plenty of natural light. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly; there was no discrimination, at least none that I observed. Everything was excellent, very satisfied.

The room has a very beautiful view, bright rooms, and the lobby is stunning with lots of climbing plants. The bright rooms are great, and it's very convenient to have a capsule coffee machine in the room. The grounds are well-maintained. There's an elevator. However, the room cleaning is mediocre. They only change towels and make the beds, and they don't wipe down tables. There are also many small ants in the room. There are no disposable slippers. The breakfasts are average. I would return to this hotel.

Before booking, I saw reviews mentioning that Chinese guests were often assigned rooms at the end of the hall, and specifically, those facing the noisy street. When we checked in, we specifically asked the front desk not to put us in a room facing the street because it would be too loud. Yet, all five of our rooms were placed at the very end of the hall, on the loudest, street-facing side. The noise went on until 1 AM, and then road construction with jackhammering started again in the morning. It truly felt like we were being discriminated against, as if we were asking for special favors. The pool is tiny and gets very crowded, raising concerns about hygiene. Plus, swimming isn't allowed after 7 PM. Breakfast options are limited, mostly just 'white people food' (referring to a basic, uninspired selection). The hotel itself is small, with no other common areas or activities. Front desk staff were unhelpful and even gave us dirty looks 🙄. There's no luggage service, and out of our five rooms, only one received the welcome fruit – I'm not sure why, and I didn't bother asking. That's just how it was. This place is definitely not as good as the Sun Wing Hotel I stayed at previously.

This is my third consecutive year staying here, and every time I visit Phuket, I just can't bring myself to choose another hotel. The Hawaiian-like scenery and the thrill of surfing in the ocean are simply unforgettable. This hotel's excellent location offers convenience and comfort for those who love to swim and enjoy the sun. It's also perfect for women who love photography, as it provides stunning backdrops for amazing shots. This time, I again opted for the Deluxe Ocean View room for six nights. Facing directly towards the sea, the weather was fantastic, and every day spent surfing in the ocean was truly wonderful. I hope the hotel continues to maintain its high standards and gets even better!

I stayed for five days, and the hotel's location was excellent. The water quality was remarkably clear and transparent during my stay. AE cleaned the room diligently every day. I'll definitely stay here again. It really gave off a strong vacation vibe. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit old, and the hot water supply can be inconsistent with its temperature. I hope they can upgrade the water circulation system for more stable temperatures. The soundproofing in the hallway isn't great either, but overall it's very quiet when no one is around.
