Hotel Daimatsuso

They cleaned my room every day for all three nights of my stay. They also provide room temperature, hot, and cold water. The large public bath was very comfortable, and they even gave me a free bottle of sake. This is truly an excellent onsen hotel. Plus, free laundry!

The hotel is a 1-minute walk from Matsushima-Kaigan Station. It's a Japanese-style serviced hotel. The rooms are large, but unfortunately the facilities are a bit old. Breakfast and dinner are predominantly Japanese style, with a wide variety of delicious dishes. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located near various attractions.

Location: Excellent, just a one-minute walk to the left after exiting Matsushima-Kaigan Station. Facilities: The hotel's exterior and interior are indeed old, but well-maintained. The onsen facilities are fantastic, and there's a small souvenir shop to the left of the entrance. I stayed in a Japanese-style ocean view room, which had a great view. Although there were unavoidable utility poles, the ocean view was direct. The room amenities were adequate, and the Japanese-style pajamas were very comfortable. Food: Unbeatable. Dinner and breakfast were both very generous Japanese set meals, quite delicious and not greasy (unless you find it a bit salty, you can get unlimited refills). Honestly, you wouldn't expect such a lavish meal at this price point.

The building was old, but the room was well-cleaned and the tatami mats were beautiful. Dinner was served in a private room, so we were able to enjoy it at our leisure and it was delicious. The view of Matsushima from our room was also beautiful.

It's very close to the JR station, super convenient, and also close to Matsushima attractions. The price is reasonable, but there are no convenience stores nearby, and the open-air bath is under repair, which is a bit disappointing.
