Relais d'Amboise - the Leading Hotels of the World

Lovely stay at a brand new hotel. This hotel opened in September and the facility really sparkled. Lovely spa, rooftop bar looking at a chateau and modern rooms. Only 5 minutes from the town itself. As the hotel and staff matures this will definitely be a top destination resort in the Loire.

We were so excited to be staying at the Relais Amboise, but were disappointed on several fronts. Our shower leaked, which we brought to the attention of the General Manager, and was never addressed. The front desk staff did not speak English well (thankfully we spoke French) and were not familiar with town amenities or restaurants. Wait staff seemed ill trained and there was a general attitude of “not my job”. The facilities were beautiful and certainly some staff were helpful, but overall did not meet our expectations.

My wife and I and another couple stayed here in early October 2026. We had not heard of this place before as it had only been open for two weeks. After two years and €20 million restoration the property is absolutely magnificent. It faces the Loire river and is just down the street from the heart of the town of Amboise. The staff is excellent and they all speak English. Even the least expensive rooms are very well appointed. They have a very nice restaurant. The bar and the outdoor bar area are outstanding. On the property you will find on site parking and a pool. Our friends went to the spa and had a two hour experience they raved about. Ask a staff member to let you into the game room which is actually one of the caves in the side of the cliff where you will find pool tables and video games. An outstanding experience

Wow! When we checked in we were told that the hotel had just opened a few days before and that we were actually the first guests to stay in our room. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We were a bit apprehensive at first thinking that there would be small glitches but everything worked perfectly. The hotel has a delicious and beautiful restaurant and a stunning bar with great views, again difficult to believe that it had just opened as the service was friendly and the food was good. The spa looked amazing, carved in the rocks, but it was not yet open unfortunately. Stayed for two nights but would recommend staying a bit longer as it is a perfect base to discover Amboise and other castles in the Loire Valley.

Great location, super friendly staff, nice breakfast. Walking distance to the pedestrian street and restaurants and bars. Parking availAble directly at the hotel. Nice view to the river from the room. Highly recommend and we might come back as well.

Great place to stay! Wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and had one of the suites. Large room with large bathroom and the staff is outstanding! They went out of their way to make us feel at home and help us with anything, like reservations at local restaurants, called drivers for us that were booked by our travel agent. I cannot say enough great things about our visit and experience here. Beautiful place and literally a 5 min walk to everything and place you want to see. I highly recommend staying here. There is only 1 small complaint that people had and that’s parking and entering the parking lot. It’s very narrow and small, we didn’t have to worry about it due to having drivers bring us there and pick us up but I would suggest if you drive here don’t bring a larger vehicle.

Really elegant hotel with great parking. Service was elegant. Room comfy. Breakfast good. I recommend having a glass of Chinon red in the courtyard out front. Very short walk to old town which has great restaurants, chateau. Lovely place to stay in the Loire valley. Room up top (we had) has Loire view.
