Tulia Zanzibar Unique Beach Resort

Our stay at Tulia was mind blowing! From the greeting, to the personalized check-in, tour and spacious, comfortable villa. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view villa and loved swinging in the hammock and listening to the birds. The food was amazing- a true culinary experience. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, it’s like walking through a garden. Take time to tour the farm and truly see the beauty and how they make this place unique. The spa was a lovely experience! The best part is the staff. Asante!

The Tulia property itself is beautiful, and the hotel is kept in pristine condition. However, my husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were disappointed by how management handled an issue we experienced during one of the excursions offered through the hotel. The snorkeling excursion to Mnemba Island was highly recommended to us as an excellent experience. Unfortunately, we were immediately concerned by what we observed, particularly the treatment of the dolphins. Boats were chasing dolphins while people were simultaneously swimming in the water. The coral appeared largely dead, and there was very little marine wildlife. We were also not provided with life jackets. When we expressed our concerns to the Tulia guide, he laughed at us, which was particularly upsetting. We later learned from management that the guides used for excursions are actually third-party contractors who simply wear Tulia shirts and are not affiliated with the hotel. This was even more concerning, as the excursion had been recommended and arranged through Tulia. Despite our concerns, the hotel did not offer any refund or meaningful resolution for the experience. When we followed up several times throughout the week, management repeatedly deferred providing an answer. Unfortunately, this experience negatively impacted what was otherwise a beautiful honeymoon stay. We hope Tulia will reconsider how it vets and oversees the third-party operators it recommends to guests and take greater responsibility when those experiences fall short of the standards guests expect from the hotel.

My experience at Tulia 10/10 ❤️ It’s a beautiful hotel with such a lovely ambiance and very welcoming, friendly staff. The swimming pool is big and beautiful, and the whole place has such a relaxing atmosphere. One thing that really surprised me and I have never experienced in other hotels is that the drinks are free! 🥂🍹 You can enjoy as many drinks as you want without being charged extra which is such a great touch, especially for people who love to enjoy their drinks while on holiday. For those who enjoy shisha, they also have you covered 😍 I was especially impressed by the waiters and the housekeeping team. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. The food was also really nice and enjoyable. Overall, I had such a wonderful experience at Tulia. Definitely a place I would recommend, and I would happily come back again! 10/10. ❤️✨

This is such a lovely resort. If you are looking for a top quality, intimate resort in Zanzibar look no further. 16 or so private bungalows occupy a gorgeous garden of palm trees and tropical plants right on the beach. There is always a beach lounger, a lovely table for dinner, a great cocktail ready for you. Service and food are excellent with friendly staff and yummy meals! Quiet. Stylish. Elegant. Spa service was very good. If you can stay here!

We had an incredible end to our honeymoon here ! The food was outstanding. The chef wowed us at every single meal. The staff went above and beyond for us, and were super friendly. We loved chatting with them. Luca was beyond fantastic. He was so kind, attentive, warm, and fast! We loved when he was our server. Joseph was also great too! The house keeping staff was fabulous as well, with 2x day service and special notes and flowers on our bed as we were celebrating my birthday and honeymoon. The gym was clean which we used daily, and the entire property was kept immaculate. Picture perfect! Overall we loved it so much here and can’t wait to return some day!!

Unforgettable holiday and fantastic food! We had an absolutely wonderful time at Tulia Zanzibar. A special shout-out goes to the food, which was simply outstanding – every meal was a true culinary delight! Don't be afraid of the low tide here! Walking along the beach and the ocean floor during low tide is a beautiful experience in itself, and the sea always comes back before you know it. We highly recommend Tulia to everyone!

A beautiful, intimate series of bungalows with fabulous views of the Indian Ocean and terrific dining. The team working there were just amazing, so kind and helpful. Rooms were generous and in excellent condition.
