The Inside House

This was the second hotel I stayed at in Chiang Mai. Let me start with the positives. The hotel is located in the southwest corner of the Old City, very close to the Saturday Night Market and a large park in the Old City. It's also convenient to get to other places, with small shops, cafes, massage parlors, and convenience stores nearby. The hotel courtyard has a very large tree that shades most of the sun. The sunlight filtering through the leaves is beautiful. The entire building has a distinct local Lanna style. The green and white colors are refreshing and comfortable. There's also a large swimming pool, but it's only suitable for evening use as it's too sunny during the day with no shade. Compared to the price, the room was indeed a bit average. It still had a Lanna style and showed signs of maintenance and renovation, but the hotel overall felt quite old. The room had welcome snacks and sparkling wine, and the mini bar was free. The bed was a bit too soft, and the carpet at the foot of the bed was very old. The room rate included breakfast, which was à la carte from a menu. The selection was limited, and the taste was just so-so. Compared to the previous hotel I stayed at for the same price, this one didn't offer as good value for money. The service was alright, but I could feel a professional politeness rather than the cheerful friendliness and proactiveness of the previous place. Overall, because I had two hotels to compare, The Inside House wasn't as good a deal. If you're looking to stay in the Old City and love taking photos, this hotel is very picturesque; the courtyard is beautiful! However, if you care about room comfort and newness, this one is average, and the price is a bit high.

The hotel boasts a Lanna-style design, with approximately 8 years of history by 2026. Breakfast is served as a set menu, and turndown service is provided every night. The hotel is adorned with many fresh flower decorations and thoughtful touches, making it well worth a visit.

This was my sixth stay at Inside House in three years, and the service remains consistently attentive and friendly. The food is still delicious, and the front desk staff even remembered me! Guess I'll have to see you again next year!

The hotel environment is truly amazing and very photogenic, making it the perfect choice for photography enthusiasts. The breakfast is also fantastic, with many different options every day. I especially loved the variety of juices and desserts.

The room was quite spacious and the service was excellent. The breakfast spread was very generous, but I felt the cleanliness could be improved. There was no full-length mirror in the room, and both the breakfast and afternoon tea tasted a little off.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. I booked a pool room, and even though I didn't get to swim, it still gave off a lovely vacation vibe. Breakfast is à la carte and everything was delicious. I especially loved the 'best wish' drink—it's sparkling water with chili, Sichuan peppercorns, and some herbs, very refreshing. There's a big tree in the courtyard that gives off great energy. It's not a large hotel, which makes it very quiet.

The location is fantastic, with plenty of restaurants and massage parlors nearby. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast spread is incredibly diverse and delicious. The pool is also very picturesque and great for photos. The service is attentive, and the front desk staff even speaks Chinese.

This hotel is perfect! You absolutely *must* book a pool room; it's a truly unique experience. Upon check-in, we were also treated to afternoon tea and champagne, which added a lovely touch. Breakfast isn't a buffet, but the selection is incredibly rich and varied.
