The AC Hotel Seoul Gangnam, part of the Marriott family, boasts an unbeatable location right in the heart of Gangnam. It’s just a 1-minute walk to Exit 4 of Yeoksam Station (Subway Line 2), making it super convenient to explore. Whether you’re heading to COEX Mall for some shopping or checking out Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong, it's all easily accessible. Plus, the bustling Gangnam commercial district is just a 15-minute walk away. The hotel lives up to Marriott's consistently high standards. The rooms are spotless and tidy, and the bedding is wonderfully soft and comfortable. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful details like the wireless charger next to the bed and the multi-country outlet by the desk. The 24-hour front desk staff are warm, professional, and always quick to assist with any request. The hotel also features a fitness center and a sauna, perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel. What truly surprised me was the incredible variety of dining options nearby! There's a GS25 convenience store right across the street, and within a 300-meter walk, you’ll find all sorts of restaurants, from sashimi spots to gamja-tang (pork bone soup) eateries and Korean set meal places. You don’t have to go out of your way to enjoy authentic local cuisine. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I also enjoyed exclusive benefits, making the overall value for money exceptional. The hotel is really good – very quiet and clean, and the location is convenient. The lobby staff are friendly too. The only thing is that the rooms are a bit small, so it's best for friends traveling together to get separate rooms.

Beyond its newness and location, there's absolutely nothing else to recommend about this hotel; it's simply not friendly to Chinese guests. During check-in, I specifically requested a quiet room far from the elevator, communicating entirely in English with the hotel staff, who seemed fine with it. They confirmed everything and sent me upstairs, only to give me a room directly facing the elevator and with a view of a building undergoing renovation across the street (with blue scaffolding). Koreans really say one thing to your face and do another behind your back, it's quite something. Subsequent interactions with front desk and restaurant staff also left me feeling their arrogance and discrimination. I really don't recommend Seoul for travel – the traffic is terrible, the food is uninspired, and the service pales in comparison to what you get back home.

We booked our hotel late, and most places near Myeongdong were either fully booked or overpriced. Since we were traveling with two families and kids, and had a private car, we decided to look at hotels in Gangnam (location wasn't a huge issue with the car). Our top priority was a large bed, big enough for our family of three (with a 6-year-old) to sleep comfortably without feeling cramped. Compared to hotels in Myeongdong at a similar price point, AC Hotel offered larger beds and a more comfortable stay. Being a Marriott brand also gave us confidence in the service quality. We also noticed many Western guests, which further confirmed the hotel's good reputation. The hotel is super convenient with a convenience store and a bakery right downstairs. There's also an Olive Young just behind the hotel (open until 9:30 PM), making it easy to grab breakfast, snacks, skincare, and makeup. Since it's not in a major tourist hub, the area around the hotel is very quiet. Plus, there's a famous *ganjang gejang* (soy-marinated crab) restaurant (Odarijip) about 900 meters across the street. Overall, we were very satisfied.

The location is super convenient! The airport bus stop and subway line 2 entrance are just 20 meters away. The facilities are quite new, and most importantly, the front desk staff all speak good English, which is a rare find in Korea!
