Hotel Tetora Asahikawa Station

I had to stay overnight in Asahikawa for work and chose this hotel. Since it was August, peak tourist season, most hotels in the city were over 10,000 yen, but this one was quite affordable at around 7,000 yen. The building and facilities were a bit old-fashioned, but all the basic necessities were there, and the air conditioning worked well. There was a free drink bar at the front desk, offering sodas, coffee, corn soup, and consommé soup from check-in to check-out, which was a nice, subtle touch. A free breakfast was included, though it was a simple offering of only bread. However, the bread was delicious, so I was personally quite satisfied. The room was a Japanese-style room, which is rare these days. It had a slightly nostalgic feel, and I think it's a good hotel for those looking for an affordable stay.

Didn't get a chance to try breakfast, but it looked like it was probably just bread. However, they offer complimentary drinks and corn chowder outside of meal times, which was a nice touch after checking in late on a snowy night. The location is also very convenient, just a few blocks straight down the road from the station.

The hotel is not far from the station; it's a few minutes' walk with luggage, but you need to look carefully for the entrance or you'll walk past it. Once you arrive, take the elevator to the 3rd floor (Hotel Reception). Breakfast includes bread and drinks. It's convenient for visiting the zoo and skiing. There's an Aeon mall next to the station.

The hotel is very convenient, close to the JR station, and there's a convenience store across the street with very helpful staff. Plus, the hotel offers unlimited free drinks, saving us a lot on beverage costs. We drove there, and there are two very cheap parking lots nearby, costing only HKD 25 for 24 hours – highly recommended!
