Parador de Bielsa

We’ve just spent three nights at this wonderful Paradore hotels. It has recently been refurbished so the rooms are really well appointed. The restaurant is great too - and there aren’t many other places to eat nearby as it’s quite remote . What makes it really amazing is the location . You are right in the mountains. With great walks from the door our favourite was along the river bed . The herds of wild horses and cattle really add to the adventure too. We have loved loved loved this place .

I am so disappointed. The hotel is fine, the view is amazing but the staff could care less if we are here or not. I asked for a glass of ice at the bar and we were the only the people standing there, she didn’t even knowledge me (Yes, I asked in Spanish) 15 minutes later I gave up. She wouldn’t even make eye contact or say “I be with you soon” ….. The dinner staff forgot to put one of our plates in. My husband ate first so he’s won’t be cold and I ate 25 mins later when mine finally came out. My complimentary drink for their mistake was still charged plus a mandatory 10% tip on everything. they made no effort to be polite or work with us :( The maintenance guy was so nice, we laughed and talked with him but I don’t understand why the bar tender lady was so rude ??? She made zero effort to say hello or help us and the dinner staff wasn’t any better. I’m blown away, I get we are American but we speak Spanish so there was no excuse for the rudeness. We were so looking forward to being here but ended up having dinner and spending our money outside the hotel. We should have read the reviews more carefully before booking here.

POS: beautiful location even in misty weather. Receptionist and one dining staff nice. Quiet so enjoyed good sleep. Room very clean NEG: all over the hotel was cold kept my jacket on during dinner. Room on top floor but dormer window so view limited. Food just about alright at dinner. Breakfast was very greasy. Staff so indifferent resulting in bad atmosphere Overall would not recommend/return

One of the most stunning places we have ever stayed, a hidden gem, very clean, comfortable, and friendly people!!

We arrived two days late and they would not refund us or allow us to stay in available rooms

It was nice. Good views and parador itself. Lack of service (no soap in room, breakfast that do not match its price, cold floor without slippers) mark a little spot on vacation, but it’s not a big deal

After many year of being a quaint mountain retreat, the Parador Bielsa has had a considerable face lift bringing it into the 21st century with style and panache! As the hotel was very busy, I was lucky enough to be given a suite, which was a real treat! The rooms are large and there are views of the mountains in three directions. The stand alone shower is enormous! Overall it is an amazing transformation!

We were travelling on a motorcycle so please be aware that there are cobbled and uneven surfaces to access the car park which can make parking a little more difficult if you are travelling two up.

Frosty staff Beautiful location but please note this Parador is some distance away from the nearest village. Extremely quiet, even the other guests did not seem to talk to anyone. The staff did not look at all happy and rarely smiled. We were not allowed to take our drink from the bar into the restaurant which was not a problem in other Paradors.
