Our stay at Lunde Camping far exceeded our expectations. We loved our cozy cabin for four. It was sparkling clean and very comfortable with good beds, a large bathroom with shower (plenty of hot water), a nice sized living area and a kitchen with good pots and pans, utensils etc. We loved the large deck that overlooks the river and found it to be a great place for relaxing. Wi-Fi was good -about 25 mbps. The Wi-Fi at the camp office is incredibly fast if a faster connection is needed. We were glad to have a washer and dryer available in the campground. We were a little unsure about how the location would work for us since we didn’t have a car, but we found it easy to catch a bus directly to the campground from Flam. (Google maps was accurate and the tourist office in Flam is helpful.) We arrived on a Sunday and so the bus schedule was infrequent but during the week it runs more often and there are more options. We bought tickets on the bus. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage at the office. From Aurland it’s an easy 10-15 minute walk on a paved path. We were able to walk it with our luggage in the morning to catch our boat for our fjord trip. There’s a pretty waterfall hike not even 10 minutes away. Staff were friendly, and one of them encouraged us to try the hike to Stegastein from Aurland. It was challenging but we made it! One caution: if you arrive on Sunday as we did keep in mind there is very little in Aurland open on Sunday for food. The Spar was closed and the nearby gas station was closed for renovations. Just a couple of restaurants open. We all wished we had more time in this idyllic location and we hope to come back someday to Lunde Camping.
