Asamushi Sakura Kanko Hotel

The hotel is located by the sea, with windows facing the ocean. It was cloudy when I visited, so I didn't get to see the sunset or sunrise, only a few seabirds and dark seaweed. The breakfast and dinner were pretty standard, similar to other hot spring hotels, but the evening show was good. The hotel is a bit far from the city center; it's about a ten-minute walk from the station. Across the railway crossing is the Asamushi Aquarium, where I was surprised to see a demonstration of how to cook scallops for the first time in an aquarium.

The hotel is directly opposite the aquarium and next to Asamushi Onsen. It's a 5-minute walk, and after a soak, there's a market selling all sorts of apple juice and fruit souvenirs. There weren't many guests staying at the hotel, probably due to the heavy snowfall in Aomori. Both breakfast and dinner were Japanese set meals. The sukiyaki and sashimi were excellent. It was just us and one other couple dining. In the evening, there was a Nebuta performance and sanshin (three-stringed instrument) music. Even with so few guests, the performers were incredibly dedicated and put on a great show. The large public bath is on an upper floor facing the sea, and the island and bay opposite are beautiful. The open-air bath also has two barrel-shaped tubs.

The hotel is right by the sea, and the environment is great! Both breakfast and dinner were quite tasty. Although the bed was a bit small, it was very comfortable to sleep in. I didn't even want to get out of bed yesterday when it snowed.

The view from the room was great, I'm so glad I chose this place! The food was delicious too. The shuttle bus running every hour was very convenient for my schedule. I'd love to stay here again if I come back to Asamushi Onsen!

Facing the sea, the view is beautiful. The hot springs were just okay, seemed like plain hot water. The hotel is relatively new, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Great value for money, and they even offered a complimentary transfer to the station.
