Grand Hyatt Chengdu (Chunxi Road Taikoo Li)

Unbeatable location: Right in the heart of Chunxi Road, within walking distance to Taikoo Li and IFS, with the subway station just downstairs, making shopping and getting around extremely convenient. The high-floor floor-to-ceiling windows offer great city night views, and some rooms even look out at the famous giant panda backside at IFS. 2. Strong design vibe: The 16th-floor sky lobby features a classic Ji Shih Tang (Tony Chi) style with natural wood and mirrors, making the public areas very Instagram-worthy. The heated courtyard pool is a major highlight—great for photos and with clean water. 3. Hardware and amenities: Guest rooms start at 40 sqm, featuring large double-sink bathrooms and Balmain toiletries. The minibar is complimentary, and the bedding is very soft. Guests staying on the Grand Club floor have access to the executive lounge, which offers afternoon tea and evening canapés. The hotel's No. 8 Hot Pot is highly rated, and many locals go there to dine. 4. Generally well-maintained, relatively quiet despite being in a bustling downtown area, making it suitable for both leisure and business travelers.

Excellent service, we even got an upgrade and felt completely at home at the Grand Hyatt. Always clean, top-notch views, and the hotel is super centrally located—just a 3-minute walk to Chunxi Road. There are awesome food stalls everywhere where you can try various types of tofu and the famous Chengdu noodles. I’d recommend this as a base to anyone, especially because you can always use the skyscraper as a landmark while strolling around to easily find your way back.

The location is very convenient, just a 5-minute walk to Taikoo Li and IFS. There's a panda photo spot at the entrance that the kids absolutely loved, and the staff were very friendly and interacted nicely with them.

The room has a bit of an old-school decor, but it's very comfortable with a gorgeous view. Downstairs is super convenient—there's a delicious breakfast stall right across the street, and the pedestrian street is just around the corner. Getting around is a breeze no matter where you go, and the airport isn't far either.

The facilities are dated, but the design is outstanding and the aesthetics are definitely on point. The location is convenient, just a 10-minute walk to Taikoo Li. I requested a high floor for the atrium room. We arrived at 2:00 PM and were made to wait for an hour because they said it was being cleaned. Then at 3:00 PM, they told us the room smelled of smoke and reassigned us to a different one. There was no welcome fruit in the room, and the breakfast was quite mediocre. Since it was the National Day holiday, there were many weddings, and you could hear all the commotion outside as soon as you stepped into the lobby. When we purchased the Grand Club access, the front desk didn't explain things clearly. They just said our booking only included one breakfast and asked if we wanted to add another. After adding it, we realized it actually included Grand Club lounge access. When we asked for a refund, it took some back-and-forth, but the manager eventually refunded it. Overall, though, the service attitude left much to be desired.

The location is great, though hailing a cab around here comes with crazy bad traffic. That said, the neighborhood is lovely to stroll around with tons of great food options... The pastries and breads at breakfast were delicious, but the cooked noodles were a bit of a letdown...

Great facilities, super convenient location, and very tasteful design. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chengdu.

Every year, I visit Chengdu for a few recuperation trips, and it's always the Grand Hyatt. It feels like visiting old friends… It's been many years, and I've watched the Grand Hyatt grow and improve step by step… Every detail is a testament to the hard work of every Grand Hyatt employee! This National Day, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt again and clearly felt the changes in team management and the subtle improvement in service. The new employees were humble and enthusiastic, and the experienced staff and management showed great insight and quick, effective problem-solving skills – thumbs up! 👍 **Facilities:** The room was cozy and comfortable. The hotel had installed anti-collision protection on sharp corners in the bathroom, and anti-slip reminders around the bathtub. The peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling was also refreshed, and the room corners were clean, with toiletries replenished promptly. **Dining:** The executive lounge ambiance was still great; I especially love that touch of Hermès orange… The cakes, pastries, and drinks were unchanged, still of Grand Hyatt quality. However, the orange juice was too diluted. I suspect the Chinese chef in the executive lounge has changed, as the Chinese food has lost its previous Chengdu characteristics, and the quality of the ingredients is significantly worse than before, especially the cold mixed bean curd skin and garlic pork belly, which were particularly salty. For breakfast, the overall quality and features were maintained. Dandan noodles were still the most popular. However, most of the fruit and vegetable juices were too watered down, affecting the taste and quality. The previous carrot, celery, and bitter gourd juices were replaced by a 'vitality water' that felt cheap. The whole wheat bread was hard and not fresh enough! **Issues and Suggestions:** When collecting entrusted luggage, it's understandable that a luggage tag is required for security. However, if a guest cannot produce the luggage tag due to special circumstances, there should be alternative ways to verify the owner of the luggage, instead of demanding a photocopy of their ID. Such a non-compliant action could lead to the leakage of guest information and undesirable consequences, for which the hotel would be unable to bear responsibility! Finally, I'd like to express my gratitude once again to every staff member of the Grand Hyatt Chengdu for their hard work! I hope the Grand Hyatt Chengdu continues to thrive!
