Ryokan Misato

Adorable ryokan with very pleasant baths, incredibly kind staff, and a delicious breakfast.

The room was spacious, typical of traditional onsen hotels, and the hot spring facilities were excellent. What we loved most was the incredibly traditional Japanese breakfast – it was plentiful and truly unique. For example, there was grilled salmon served with a special fresh yam dipping sauce, and miso soup kept warm over a flame. A staff member even explained each dish and the recommended eating order, which was a very thoughtful touch.

The room was just okay, but the location on the street was convenient for transportation. Check-out was at 10 AM (usually 11 AM), and it happened to be raining that day. I was planning to switch hotels, but the next one wouldn't allow check-in until 3 PM, so I was left with nothing to do but find shelter from the rain. The meals were also very basic. So, comparatively speaking, the value for money was quite poor. However, the hotel service was good, and the staff were enthusiastic and attentive.

The hot spring was lovely and the staff were very accommodating.

A traditional Japanese ryokan with spacious rooms, all featuring tatami mats. The dinner was exquisite, and our beds were made up for us right after we finished eating, which was a lovely touch. The onsen (hot spring) has both indoor and outdoor options, and it was very clean and therapeutic.
