Sofitel Hangzhou Westlake

The Sofitel Hangzhou Westlake, located at 333 West Lake Avenue, Shangcheng District, Hangzhou, is an older five-star hotel. The entrance looked a bit messy, and when my companion and I, both seniors, got out of the taxi with our luggage, no one offered to help. At the front desk, the young man spoke nicely and arranged a quiet room for us on a higher floor (the fifth floor). However, after checking in, we realized there was actually a sixth floor above us (the executive rooms we booked were already on the fifth and sixth floors). It felt a bit like a bait-and-switch. We occasionally encountered staff who were mostly expressionless, though the cleaning lady on our floor was very kind and polite. The so-called executive room had a window that faced directly onto another building, only about twenty meters away. If it were summer, it would be inconvenient to open the curtains during the day. The room had good soundproofing, and we barely heard any outside noise at night. However, the bathtub didn't come with a disposable liner, making it practically useless. In the evening, we went to the fifth-floor restaurant for the happy hour special, and the two young ladies serving there were very pleasant. The hotel's swimming pool is quite small and has limited operating hours. The rooftop garden is very nice and offers a great view of most of West Lake.

I first stayed at this hotel in 2017 and had a great impression. Nine years later, I chose it again, and it's still fantastic. This hotel offers excellent value for money, and the breakfast spread is incredibly rich. The double beds are a comfortable 1.35 meters wide, which is quite spacious. It has all the amenities you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The staff's service attitude is superb; they even reminded me about clothes I left behind and helped me ship them back. Its proximity to West Lake makes getting around very convenient. I'll definitely come back if I get the chance.

Traveling to Hangzhou, I specifically chose a hotel close to West Lake, trusting the quality of the well-established Sofitel brand. My stay certainly didn't disappoint. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and asked about my preferences, arranging a room for me on the highest floor where I could catch a glimpse of West Lake. There's also an outdoor platform with panoramic views of the lake. The room upheld Accor's quality standards – it was spacious, bright, and clean. Although the facilities were a bit older, they were well-maintained and had everything I needed. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, and it was a bonus to have a small window that could open, a blessing for those who dislike stuffy rooms 😃. It's incredibly close to West Lake, just across an underpass, and located at Yongjin Gate. Within a few hundred meters, there are two ferry terminals, and a sightseeing bus is available after 9 PM, which is very convenient. It's also much quieter than the Longxiang area, not far from In77, and only 300 meters from Intime for easy shopping. The delivery robot was super fast with takeout. Unfortunately, I'm on a diet, so I didn't get to try the hotel breakfast, but I'll make sure to next time!

This five-star hotel boasts an excellent location, with West Lake just across the street, accessible via an underpass right outside. It's also conveniently close to the subway; I took Line 7 from Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport to Wushan Square Station, and it was just a ten-minute walk to the hotel. The breakfast at Yongjing Pavilion Chinese Restaurant on the first floor was incredibly rich, with a fantastic variety of stir-fried greens and delicious, delicately prepared smoked mackerel. The service was impeccable. The lobby staff were incredibly helpful with my travel arrangements. Seeing that I'm a senior, they even arranged a dedicated hotel car for me – a comfortable business vehicle that wasn't expensive at all. The driver assisted me with everything I needed and even waited while I shopped. In short, they made my trip absolutely perfect, and I'm very grateful! The front desk even gave me West Lake boat tickets. I booked a two-night package for less than 1500 RMB, including breakfast, which is truly great value for money. I highly recommend it!

The room was a bit old, and the breakfast was just okay. Housekeeping was so-so; they didn't replenish amenities, and the toothpaste and toothbrush provided were really poor quality. The service was also just average. A customer service representative followed up later, and I hope they can improve their service quality in the future. It's convenient for visiting West Lake, but the overall experience was mediocre, and the room rate wasn't great. The value for money was average, though its location is a definite plus.

The hotel facilities are complete and the hygiene is top-notch. There's no smoke smell anywhere, which is a huge plus. The air conditioning in the room and the bathroom exhaust fan are practically silent, which made for a very pleasant stay. It's located in the scenic West Lake area with elegant surroundings and excellent, professional, and enthusiastic staff. The hotel's food is also great – good ingredients, a wide variety, and delicious. Highly recommended.

This hotel is conveniently located in the scenic Liu Lang Wen Ying area of West Lake, making it easy to get around. Although it's an older hotel, the facilities are well-maintained and easy to use. The rooms are spacious, bright, and comfortable. The hotel breakfast is also excellent, with a particularly delicious selection of pastries and bread. My stay at the Sofitel was a great experience.

Everything in the room was great, the shower was fantastic with a bathtub, perfect for families with kids. It's super close to West Lake which is really convenient. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choices, and the bread was delicious, as was the tofu pudding. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Hangzhou. The happy hour and afternoon tea included with the executive room were also a wonderful bonus! This hotel made our first stop in Hangzhou absolutely perfect!

Great location, right opposite Yongjin Gate and close to the subway. However, the TV in the room was too small and the AC was a bit slow to cool down.
