Sleeping by the waves, embracing luxury at Xiaomeisha—My honest review of MGM Shenzhen.
My family and I recently stayed at the newly opened MGM Shenzhen in Xiaomeisha over the weekend, and it far exceeded our expectations. I simply have to share this delightful surprise!
The hotel's location is unbeatable. It's just a few minutes' walk from Xiaomeisha Station on Metro Line 8. The moment we stepped into the lobby, we were enveloped by a vacation vibe. The expansive floor-to-ceiling windows brought the stunning blue ocean right into the interior, and the high ceilings, adorned with wave-like art installations, instantly washed away all our fatigue. We stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View room, which was about 50 square meters. Opening the balcony door revealed an unobstructed 180-degree ocean view. Waking up to the gentle sound of waves in the morning and watching the sunset paint the sea crimson from our balcony in the evening—this kind of seamless connection with nature is truly rare in a city hotel.
The room design was simple yet sophisticated. The combination of natural wood tones and deep ocean blue exuded elegance. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the bathroom featured a separate wet and dry area with a bathtub, showcasing thoughtful attention to detail.
The hotel's family-friendly amenities deserve full marks. There are two children's play areas on the ground floor and the third floor, plus a slide next to the outdoor lawn, keeping our child happily entertained. The Little Lion Club particularly stands out, offering professional childcare services that finally allowed my husband and I to enjoy some well-deserved free time. We took advantage of it to swim in the outdoor infinity heated pool and relax on Xiaomeisha beach.
The dining was equally impressive. The buffet breakfast at the Feast all-day dining restaurant was incredibly diverse, offering everything from freshly made Eggs Benedict to authentic Cantonese dim sum—every bite was satisfying. In the evening, we visited the Starlight Bar on the 18th floor. Sipping on a specialty cocktail while watching the sky darken and the city lights twinkle was incredibly romantic.
What truly left the deepest impression was the ever-present, thoughtful service. From the pre-arrival contact by 'Mao Mao' from the Guest Experience Department to the warm farewell upon departure, every staff member genuinely smiled. The Guest Experience team not only helped arrange a high-floor ocean view room in advance but also thoughtfully prepared toiletries for our child. When they learned we wanted to go to the beach, they immediately brought us beach slippers. This feeling of being remembered and cared for is, in my opinion, the true essence of luxury hotel hospitality.
The M Show performance at night was the perfect finale. The light show, singing, and dancing were spectacular, adding vibrancy and laughter to the tranquil seaside evening.
Our three days and two nights flew by. As we left, our child reluctantly said, 'We want to come back again.' MGM Xiaomeisha not only redefined seaside holidays in Shenzhen but also created sparkling family memories for us with its sincere service and excellent facilities. We look forward to our next visit.
