Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai

This is a small resort hotel, but it's super beautiful and comfortable. It's far from the bustling area, so it's very quiet. Guests also get a free yoga or meditation class. The swimming pool was also very comfortable. Perhaps because it was the off-season when we visited, there weren't many people at the hotel, so the pool felt like our own private swimming pool. Getting around by taxi was also very convenient; calling a car was quick, and we could reach anywhere in Nimman within about 10-odd minutes. The room was a bit small, but it was more than enough for two people. If I have the chance to visit Chiang Mai again, I'll definitely stay at this hotel.

This was the most expensive hotel of our trip, booked solely because of the LWH reputation, and it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The room layout was extremely cramped, with very little space for our belongings. Once we put down our two suitcases, there was barely any room to walk. The soundproofing was terrible; we could clearly hear conversations from next door, the sound of water flushing from the shower, the roar of planes flying overhead, and were even woken up in the middle of the night by wild dogs barking from the back hill. The shower water pressure was very low, constantly fluctuating between hot and cold. The hairdryer, in particular, looked like something from a decades-old flea market – an antique, fully manual model you'd rarely see these days. Breakfast was à la carte plus buffet style, with a rich and delicious menu – truly top-notch. However! From the rice crackers in the welcome amenity to the nuts and cereal at the breakfast buffet, and even the millet crackers for the goodnight ritual, everything was soft! I'm curious if these items are never checked. The daily wellness classes, which I was most looking forward to, were also greatly reduced. For our three-night stay, we were only allowed one session. I don't understand it, but I accepted it. Overall, for Chiang Mai, it's definitely not worth the price. Choose wisely~

One night isn't enough because it's stunning at first glance, a hidden gem in plain sight. Three nights might be too much as it's not very big and can feel a bit monotonous. Two nights is just right. The pool is beautiful, the spa is excellent, and the à la carte breakfast is superb. The daily activities are also great for a vacation. The only downside is that the private pools in the pool villas are too small and the water is too cold, making them rather pointless.

What a fantastic experience! The moment I stepped into the hotel, I immediately felt like I was on vacation. The hotel food was delicious and could be delivered right to my room. I ended up having three lunches and dinners there. All my previous worries about not being able to get a taxi or unenthusiastic service completely vanished. I especially want to thank the tall, slender, Chinese-speaking front desk staff member with braces – he was incredibly enthusiastic! 👍👍👍 I had requested a birthday setup and a small cake in advance, and they arranged everything. What's even better is that when I offered to pay, the hotel wouldn't accept it. It was truly a wonderful experience, and I'll definitely consider staying here again if I get the chance.

The gym is good, and they even offer sound healing (singing bowl) classes. The breakfast is high-end, made-to-order.

All the hotel staff provided excellent service. As soon as I arrived, even before check-in, I had a spa treatment. NONG was incredibly skilled and communication was very smooth. The room was very comfortable and I was pleased with it. The hotel bar was also fantastic, and the bartender was great. The only minor downside was the soundproofing; I could hear people entering their room and talking in the adjacent room at night. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely come back!

Satisfied! 👍 The environment is comfortable. Although most areas outside the room don't have air conditioning, it didn't feel hot at all. The breakfast selection was rich, and the staff were friendly. The hotel's main gate security was excellent, and the service was very good. The daily room cleaning was also very satisfactory! 👍 The location is convenient for calling a car; you can get dropped off right at the hotel entrance. Guests can join one free class.

The hotel isn't very large, but the service is incredibly efficient. Our villa was a duplex, which was very comfortable. The pool is on the smaller side, more like a plunge pool, but the overall environment is very pleasant and the location is convenient! Highly recommend!

For the price, this hotel is excellent and offers great value for money. Although the showerhead in the bathroom was broken and wasn't checked (which is a very minor issue), all other hardware and software were great. The scent of the bedding was very relaxing, and the bartender was the best among all the bars I've visited in Thailand. The breakfast spread far exceeded my expectations; for this price, it's truly incredible value. My only slight disappointment was that on the day of check-out, the front desk refused to honor the late check-out until 2 PM option available on Trip.com, citing that the hotel was fully booked. However, the hotel was clearly not full that day, as all room types were still available for sale on Trip.com. For a luxury hotel under the LHW brand, I don't understand the point of such deception, as extending check-out until 2 PM when the hotel isn't full doesn't seem to cause any loss to the hotel.
