Katathani Phuket Beach Resort

The environment gets a perfect score, but the bedding was damp, so I recommend bringing your own disposable sheets. The staff were all very friendly, always smiling and greeting us every day. Breakfast could be improved. We got a room near the middle, which we were very happy with. There aren't many dining options nearby, but it's acceptable. The 7-Eleven right out the back door of building five was a lifesaver! The ocean looks beautiful when the weather is clear.

The room was very large and spacious. It was very crowded, and we had to queue for breakfast, but it's suitable for kids. I was quite unhappy with the room's location; it was assigned to us very far from the lobby, practically the furthest possible spot.

The environment and facilities are excellent, with four or five pools to choose from. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, making it perfect for family trips. The front desk service felt a bit standard, possibly because they were busy with many guests. The explanation of hotel rules and details was rushed, and it felt like they were just trying to get through it. Overall, it's a hotel with good value for money, and I would stay here again on my next visit.

This hotel is a top choice for families with kids. The sea view is beautiful, and there are about four pools, plus a small lazy river suitable for children under 12. The sea view from the Tanin Wing is absolutely stunning. The bedding felt a bit damp, so I recommend bringing disposable sheets. Initially, I was given a room on the far end with a connecting door, but they promptly moved me to a middle room when I asked for a change. As for breakfast, it's just 'okay' for Chinese tastes; Sanya hotels definitely have better breakfasts. However, when you compare it to the beautiful scenery, you can't really complain. The sand on the gradual beach is fine and very soft – you don't find sand like this in China; even Yalong Bay in Sanya has slightly coarser sand these days. There's a convenience store and restaurants right outside. We visited Banzaan Seafood Market, Rawai Seafood Market, Central Patong, and Central Phuket Town – all easily accessible by taxi. The hotel offers a cheaper shuttle service, but it requires a minimum of four people and has fixed timings, so taking a taxi offers more flexibility. The massage on the lawn by the pool was incredibly relaxing, and it was about 200 THB per session.

Booked a beachfront suite, and it was indeed located towards the end of the corridor, but it was just for one night so I didn't mind too much. Overall, the experience was great, the only downside was that the breakfast selection was a bit limited.

The resort is a bit out of the way, about 1km from the liveliest part of Kata Beach. If you like a busy atmosphere, you might want to reconsider, but there's a 7-Eleven nearby. I stayed in the Tani building, and even though I was on the second floor of the last building, the view of the beach was unobstructed. The balcony glass door was very soundproof, allowing me to fall asleep to the white noise of waves crashing on the beach at night. The beach isn't private to the hotel, but it was definitely not crowded. For breakfast, there are both indoor and outdoor seating options; if you want an outdoor seat with a view, you should go early. The service was acceptable; the tips I left in the room weren't taken, but the bathrobes weren't replaced either.

The environment was exceptionally good. I had originally booked a room in the Pool View Building, but was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to the Tani Building. The kids had an absolute blast and didn't want to leave, while the adults also felt very relaxed and comfortable. My only minor feedback is that the breakfast and dinner buffet had fewer Chinese-style dishes, and the fruit selection was quite limited.

You really don't need to avoid this hotel. As long as the weather is good, it's more beautiful than other areas, and the service is great. Compared to The Dinsor Patong, the service here is much better. You can even shower and rest after checking out. I didn't find the rooms to be damp at all. I was on the first floor the first day and moved to the second on the second day, and neither felt humid. Plus, the beach isn't crowded.

Katathani Resort is an excellent choice for families with children. You can essentially enjoy all the facilities without even leaving the hotel. There are plenty of restaurant options nearby, as well as convenience stores like Tops daily & 7-11 for drinks, ice cream, and fruits. If you don't mind a 20-minute walk, you can also reach Kata night market. The only downside is that the water park has limited opening hours; I really don't understand why. A pool-access room is definitely worth booking in advance – you can step right into the large swimming pool from your door, though the room might be a bit more humid and prone to mosquitoes.
