Jomtien Palm Beach Hotel and Resort - Family Friendly

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. For a short stay, it's generally a decent hotel. I'm not sure if it's the same in all rooms, but my room didn't have a balcony, so there was nowhere to dry clothes. The clothes dryer in the bathroom didn't dry anything at all. Otherwise, the room was clean and looked recently renovated. It had everything needed: a kettle, hairdryer, robe, and slippers. The only downside was the reusable shampoo, gel, and soap, which was unpleasant as you don't know who used them before you. Another thing that bothered me was that the hotel asks guests not to leave valuables in the room. Is that a hint about dishonest housekeepers?! Breakfast is from 6 to 10 am. It's good, and you won't go hungry. However, if you arrive closer to 10 am, you might not find a table and will have to wait. At 6 am, though, it's empty. The pool is good, but part of it was cordoned off with construction netting, and it was noisy due to ongoing construction work. The hotel faces a lively street with cafes and bars. There's a 7/11 and a currency exchange nearby.

My stay here was terrible, completely different from the pictures on the platform – a classic case of misleading photos. The hotel's service level is very low; I hardly felt any service at all. During check-in and communication, I clearly experienced discriminatory treatment towards Chinese tourists, which made for a very unpleasant experience. The room's hygiene had major issues; food left out attracted a large number of gnats. Upon checking in, I found dirty bedsheets and called staff to replace them, but the second set of sheets they brought were still dirty. Throughout the entire bedding change process, the staff member's attitude was perfunctory and they seemed visibly reluctant. The actual appearance of the facilities was vastly different from the promotional pictures. I do not recommend staying here; it was extremely disappointing.

Absolutely, absolutely do not stay here! I was scrolling late at night and saw that a huge fire broke out here in '97, killing many people. I was so scared I couldn't sleep all night. If you don't believe me, you can search for 'Thailand's top ten ** hotels.' On top of that, the room was full of tiny ants, even in the bathroom – they were crawling all over the toothbrushes. You have to ask the front desk for toothbrushes, otherwise, they won't give you any. We asked for three toothbrushes for three people, and they only sent up two. Good thing I had an extra one. I toughed it out for three days, but I broke out in a rash. The service attitude was terrible. Hangers and hair dryers were locked away, and there was hardly anything to eat for breakfast. The pool was small and dirty, with trash floating in it. Do not believe the pictures online. Everyone, please choose carefully.

The hotel is good, beachfront, and everything is nearby. They clean the room and change towels every day. We stayed on the 8th floor and had a beautiful view. The shower drained poorly. Our neighbors were quiet, so I can't comment on the soundproofing. Breakfasts were good, typical for an average hotel in Thailand. On the ground floor, there's a Starbucks, bowling, and billiards. The pool is large but a bit old and not cleaned well. During the first part of our stay, there were a lot of Indian guests, but the hotel separated guests at breakfast and by floor: Indians separate from everyone else, for which a big THANK YOU to the hotel management!

Not a bad hotel, and the breakfasts are good. However, they don't clean every day, so I had to ask each time. Also, the bed linen isn't changed unless you specifically request it.

The room was new due to renovation, no strange smell inside, clean, and the AC was cold. We had a sea view. Most importantly, the water pressure was excellent, and the hot water came on quickly. The food selection was diverse, and the staff were friendly and always smiling. The only minor issue was that the elevator was a bit old. 😊

The staff provided excellent service, and the hotel's location is great. The room facilities are good, and the view from the room is beautiful. The room rate, including breakfast, is not expensive, and the breakfast tastes good with a decent variety of options. However, the rooms are not soundproofed, and the interior is quite old. Especially when there's a seminar group staying and they have an evening party, you just have to bear with it. The noise is loud, and the walls and windows of the room vibrate until the party ends.

I read a lot of reviews about this hotel before booking, and most people probably thought the issues were isolated incidents. However, after staying there, I realized they're pretty common. First off, the hotel's location is good, and the service staff are excellent in all aspects. The hotel itself is quite large, grand, and well-equipped, even with a Starbucks in the lobby. But honestly, those things aren't the most important. What truly matters is the cleanliness of the guest rooms, and overall, I was very dissatisfied with that. The bathroom glass, walls, and floor felt caked with limescale. What's more, there were noticeable mold spots in the bathroom's woven basket and on the desk chair. It really gave the impression that as the hotel ages, maintenance is severely lacking and no one is cleaning properly. The tissue box cover was also dirty. Even more frustrating, the hangers in the closet couldn't be taken out to dry clothes; they just had to drip and air-dry inside, but nothing was dry by the next day. The weirdest part is that the hairdryer isn't plug-in; the cord is directly wired into the wall and can't be moved. Are they worried about people stealing hairdryers??? Honestly, these details make it feel more like a 100-200 yuan apartment hotel, not a resort at all. So, I definitely won't be staying at this hotel again.
