Second time staying here, and the location is fantastic—right opposite Wat Chedi Luang. The service is great and everyone is super patient. The hotel environment is lovely with a unique character, and it's great for taking photos. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a fantastic location within the Old City, with major attractions just a few hundred meters' walk away. I had a Sunday evening flight and happened to catch the Sunday Walking Street Night Market—the hotel is right in the heart of it, which was very lively. The hotel features a charming Thai-style design, though being in the city center, it does lack a bit of that relaxing resort vibe. I’d recommend staying for 1–2 nights to really soak in the Old City atmosphere.

Hotel with High Hopes, but a Bit Disappointing 🏨 I booked a stay at The Chiang Mai over half a year in advance for my National Day holiday trip. This ancient city hotel had been on my radar for years, so when I decided to visit Chiang Mai again, I made the reservation. I booked the recommended Deluxe Balcony Room. What I can definitely commend is the hotel's pleasant environment and its excellent location within the old city, which is probably one of its biggest selling points. However, the bedding wasn't all that clean; there were even bloodstains on the back of the pillow (I called the front desk to have it changed). The bathroom (with a smart toilet) had a sink design that was quite inconvenient, and I was constantly worried about my duvet falling in (we were warned upon check-in that we'd have to pay if it got damaged). The soundproofing was average; if the next room watched TV at night, we could hear it very clearly. The hotel's breakfast was really quite ordinary and not very tasty. I didn't get to experience the hotel's afternoon tea (2 PM - 4 PM). For the first two days, I was out and about. On the last day, after checking out, I wanted to relax and pass the time before heading to the airport, but I was told that since I had checked out, I couldn't enjoy it. (They could have easily checked my room number to see if I had stayed there and made a decision based on that. Of course, we weren't insisting on using it, but it left a bad taste. We ended up going to the restaurant next door.) In terms of location, the Sunday Night Market is right downstairs. Interestingly, we couldn't hear the noise from our room, so it's a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, which is quite nice.

This is what I saw when I pulled back the duvet. The bedsheet had a repaired tear in it, and there was paper stuffed underneath to cover up a stain. The surface itself was dirty too. When the front desk came to change it in the middle of the night, I saw urine stains on the duvet cover as well. Absolutely disgusting.

Quality hotel, I loved the scent as soon as I entered – very relaxing. It's right opposite Wat Chedi Luang, and the surroundings are super convenient with tuk-tuks available right outside. The hotel food was also excellent.

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation, very close to the subway and commercial areas. The room is spacious and bright, clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding and good soundproofing. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful, check-in was quick, and they even kindly provided recommendations for nearby attractions. Breakfast was rich and delicious, and the overall value for money is high. I was very satisfied with my stay and highly recommend it!

Great location right by the night market, with massage parlors nearby. The front desk staff were wonderful, and they offer a complimentary iced Americano for afternoon tea.
