Ibis Bangkok Riverside

We're traveling with our cat and are so glad we stayed at this hotel 😍 It's clean, has a great location, and good breakfasts. Thanks to the staff for their kindness and for allowing us to check in early! 😇

Excellent hotel, it's not our first time staying at an IBIS hotel, and we plan to continue using their services in the future. The Ibis Riverside, in particular, is conveniently located near the river with piers and a metro station. There are also plenty of shops nearby – two 7-Elevens and IconSiam is close. The staff are polite and responsive, and the breakfasts are very tasty and filling. There's also a pool with a bar on-site. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and have modern plumbing. Overall, we are very satisfied.

I don't recommend this place! First off, the location isn't good. Despite reviews saying it had good access, it really didn't. The BTS station, water bus stop, and Icon Siam are all technically walkable, but they're all at least 1km away. Walking 1km in the Bangkok heat will leave you drenched in sweat. And the facilities are too old; it felt like time stopped 30 years ago. Everything, including the hairdryer, was incredibly outdated. The water pressure in the shower was extremely weak, and the drain barely worked. It was the worst room condition. The only good thing was the pool.

The hotel is great, and just a five-minute walk away, there's a food street with amazing food. There's also a lot to do. The location requires a shuttle bus, and the hotel does provide one, but it's "infrequent." However, the hotel is generally clean, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff are very friendly. 👍 The surrounding night markets are also very bustling.

I chose this hotel because I had a palace tour right after arriving and wanted to stay somewhere convenient for sightseeing. It was an excellent choice – close to tourist spots, great value for money, and a decent-sized pool. There are also convenience stores nearby and several restaurants perfect for breakfast. Plus, ICONSIAM is incredibly close; I even walked back after shopping. The bedding felt a bit damp at first, even with the AC on full blast, which I guess is due to being near the river. However, the bed was so comfortable that I slept incredibly well during my two-night stay. The pillows were very comfy too. I opted for breakfast because it was affordable, and it had all the basics. They serve congee here, and I tried both the plain rice congee and the pork ball congee – both were delicious! I usually dislike congee and never eat it, but these were so good. How can the rice be so fragrant? Haha. At night, there's a small bar in the lobby, but honestly, it's too small and located in the lobby, so it lacked atmosphere. However, the cocktails were insane! The margarita was absolutely delicious. My only regret is that I wish the bar had been in a separate space. Other than that, it's fantastic value for money, and I'm satisfied in every aspect. I'd love to go back!!!

June 10-13, 2026 Four days, three nights, NT$4988, which is NT$1663 per night, excluding breakfast, for a twin room with a city view. The location is quite good. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to ICONSIAM. From the outdoor bar area, you can see the cruise boats and scenery on the Chao Phraya River, especially the colorful night view, which really captures the essence of Bangkok, Thailand. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and cleaned our room thoroughly every day. The young ladies at the bar area also provided excellent service. However, the front desk staff seemed less welcoming, perhaps due to a language barrier with us. The Ibis Riverside Bangkok is cleaner than the Ibis Hua Hin. The waterproof sealant in the bathroom looked new, as if it had just been replaced! However, the rooms are small, and the soundproofing isn't great. For the price, it feels a bit high. Since we'd had too many hotel breakfasts on this trip, we decided not to have breakfast at the Ibis Riverside this time, otherwise the price would have been even higher. It doesn't offer the same value for money as the Ibis Hua Hin.

The location was fantastic! If you're looking for a good balance of location and value for money, I'd say Ibis is the best. There's a 7-Eleven and street stalls within a 2-3 minute walk, and it's easy to get to the restaurant street and ICONSIAM, making for a simple and convenient travel route. The pool was well-maintained, and there was a shallow area for kids, which was great. The only downside was that the room condition seemed to be a hit or miss. We used three rooms, and two of them had a musty smell inside. It seemed to be due to an aging air conditioner, so I didn't bother asking the front desk as I figured it wouldn't be easily improved, but it's worth noting that there might be a damp, sour smell. Breakfast, however, was quite satisfying. I recommend this hotel if you're traveling with children and prioritizing affordability, convenient transportation, and easy access to places!

Breakfast on the riverside terrace was lovely. I didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting, despite being small. The room was compact but clean and functional. You get a relaxing riverside atmosphere at an affordable price. I didn't choose a river view room this time, but if I stay here again, I'd definitely pay extra for one!

The riverside atmosphere along the Chao Phraya River is great, and it's conveniently located near ICONSIAM. Most importantly, I was deeply impressed by the hotel's attention to detail, especially regarding my child. Thank you for the cake and the well wishes left in the room; I was pleasantly surprised when I returned. I'm very impressed and will definitely stay here again whenever I have the chance.
