Sotetsu Grand Fresa Kumamoto

When traveling in Japan, Sotetsu is always our top choice for accommodation. While the Sotetsu Grand Fresa Kumamoto is a bit far from Kumamoto Station and requires a short train ride, its location is excellent, right next to the main shopping street. This makes dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel boasts great soundproofing, is very clean and tidy, and the rooms are quite spacious. It offers fantastic value for money!

Pros: 1. Great location! It's a convenient 5-10 minute walk from Kumamoto Bus Terminal (easily accessible by bus from Fukuoka Airport), right in the commercial district. No worries about coming back late after shopping. 2. The hotel is very new and spotlessly clean. There wasn't a single dirty spot or any unpleasant odors. The hygiene was exceptional. 3. On the first floor, there's a self-service station for amenities and maps. On the middle floors, you'll find pajamas and a microwave. 4. The staff were fantastic! One gentleman spoke Chinese and proactively offered help in Chinese, and all the other staff members were incredibly nice. Cons: 1. This is truly hard to explain, but I didn't sleep a wink for both nights of my stay. The hotel allows windows to be opened, so the temperature was good, but it got stuffy and hot in the middle of the night. The duvet was incredibly non-breathable, feeling like it was made of a poor quality material. My arms even broke out in a rash, possibly an allergic reaction. The pillow was also uncomfortable. 2. The room type I was given overlooked a construction site, and it was incredibly noisy. Overall, it was a very strange stay. The hotel is new, and the staff are great, yet I somehow couldn't sleep for two nights. I'm still feeling groggy and can't pinpoint why it didn't work for me. However, I still highly recommend the hotel.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of Kumamoto's shopping street! It's super convenient for dining, browsing, and shopping. The room was great, and the amenities were excellent, high-quality Pola products! The only downside is that transportation isn't ideal; it's a bit far from Kumamoto Station. However, taking the bus or tram is quite easy. I would definitely choose to stay here again and recommend it to my friends!

Fantastic hotel with a great location! The staff are incredibly attentive and professional. The breakfast spread is also generous and delicious. All in all, it's excellent value for money. A wonderful experience starts here – highly recommend it!

This hotel is really convenient if you need to use the Sakuramachi Bus Terminal in Kumamoto. The room was spacious, the mattress was comfortable, and they had a good selection of amenities that you could just pick up yourself. Breakfast was also good, and it offered great value for money.

The location is fantastic! 👍 It's within walking distance of the bus terminal, which is super convenient for getting everywhere. The room facilities are well-equipped, the only downside is that it's a bit small.

This hotel deserves the highest praise I've ever given in my two decades of traveling and working abroad. The front desk offers complimentary coffee, tea, and even face masks for guests to take as needed. Each floor's common area provides pajamas, toothbrushes, and toothpaste for self-service, along with a microwave and ironing facilities for free use. The room size is comparable to that of domestic hotels, and the soundproofing is excellent. The hotel is surrounded by a large commercial street with plenty of dining and entertainment options. It's also a mere six-minute walk to both the airport shuttle and long-distance bus terminal.
