Sotetsu Grand Fresa Kumamoto

Family trip, we booked two rooms. One was a double room, which was a bit small but had a washing machine, which was great. It could wash and dry clothes. The other was a twin comfort residence room, which had a washing machine, an induction hob, and all the bathroom facilities were from Rafa. The shower room was different from the bathtub in a regular room; it was a very comfortable and spacious shower room, and all the massage showerheads were from Rafa, which was excellent. Having a washing machine and dryer in the room was very convenient, especially during hot weather. After a day of activities, we could wash and dry our clothes, and wear them again the next day. This allowed us to pack fewer clothes for the trip. This hotel was the best experience among the three different hotels we stayed at in Kyushu.

This hotel is super convenient! From Kumamoto Station, you just take the 45A tram for 8 stops and then it's about a 350-meter walk. It's located in a bustling commercial area and is also around 350 meters from the city bus terminal. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Really great!

Because my bookings were split, my second reservation was for a superior room instead of a deluxe room. However, since it was on a higher floor, the bathroom odor was gone. The room was slightly smaller than the deluxe, but still acceptable. So, I'd recommend trying to get a high-floor room if possible. The parking lot near the hotel is excellent, costing 1200 yen from 3 PM until 11 AM the next day. You can ask the hotel for a discount coupon. When checking out, insert the parking ticket first to calculate the fee, then insert the discount coupon, and finally pay with cash. The ramen shop across from the hotel is quite good too.

The rooms are clean and tidy, the service is friendly, the location is great, dining is convenient, and getting around is easy. Kumamoto has so many beautiful spots perfect for family, friends, or couples' getaways.

The service was enthusiastic and the transportation was convenient. The hotel offers views of Kumamoto Castle. The barber shop downstairs next door does a great job.

Stayed for one night, and considering the price, I was pleasantly surprised by how great the experience was. The location is absolutely fantastic – you can just walk out and immediately start shopping. Besides regular stores, there's also a department store, and I particularly enjoyed the eel rice inside; it was delicious and quite affordable. Definitely worth staying here! 👍
