Mountwell Executive Suites (Jiefangbei Hongyadong)

This wasn't our first stay at Mountwell in Chongqing. Before booking, we compared a lot of other hotels and still chose this one. The staff were attentive and quick to help, and the room was clean and comfortable. We stayed on the 41st floor, and the view over the city is stunning, especially in the evening. If you're in Chongqing, this is the place we'd point you to.

Overall, the stay was fine. The location is hard to beat, as you are within walking distance of one of the best parts of the city. The room is extremely spacious, which makes it especially nice for groups who want to order food and hang out together in the living room. Having a clothes washer in the room is another plus. While the stay was pleasant, it would be unfair to other outstanding hotels I have stayed at in China to give this one the same rating. The cleanliness of the room was not very good, and that includes the hallways. The hotel could definitely use a renovation. On the first night, we had a strange noise coming from the AC. We were moved to another room, which I appreciate, but it still affected our stay negatively. It was nice to receive a goodbye gift, and I appreciate the room upgrade. However, at checkout we were asked to give a 5 star rating on the spot, which felt a bit odd. Overall, it is a decent place and a great choice if you want a big space to stay in.

Service was top-notch, connected through their WeChat and the staff assisted with housekeeping, deliveries, food, and more. Laundry was easy to use, although it did take two hours to dry our clothes. Bathroom needs to be re-caulked. The view was spectacular at night. No issues with check-in or check-out.
