Cameron Highlands Resort - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Love it. Now it’s my go to Hotel in Cameron Highlands. Honestly better than I expected.

My favorite hotel in Cameron Highlands, my third time staying here. The service is excellent and the location is great. However, this time I noticed visible stains on the towels and duvet cover. I hope the cleanliness can be improved, as I would love to have an even better experience on my next visit.

Beautiful British-style resort with a charming colonial design and a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are lovely, and there are plenty of amenities. The gym is quite nice, and the highlight for us was definitely the afternoon tea. We also enjoyed playing pool in the lounge area. The only downside was the breakfast service. Some staff came across as a little passive-aggressive and impatient when we mistakenly said the wrong item from the menu. The service could definitely be warmer and more understanding. Overall, a beautiful and relaxing stay with great ambiance.

We had high expectations for this iconic YTL property, but sadly it fell short. While the colonial charm and beautiful surroundings are undeniable, the overall experience didn’t match the premium price. Service was inconsistent throughout our stay. Some staff were warm and attentive, while others seemed indifferent, making the experience feel uneven. For a luxury hotel, we expected much more attention to detail. The property itself is elegant, but parts of it are showing their age and could benefit from refurbishment. Although the atmosphere is peaceful, it wasn’t enough to make up for the service shortcomings. Food also not to expectation .Nasi lemak , the rice is undercooked. Coffee is inconsistent . First Serve was good . Second pot was burnt . Their high tea, sandwiches we stale . Only admirable was their scone with clotted cream & strawberry jam were excellent . Overall, it wasn’t the memorable luxury escape we had hoped for. There are certainly positives, but considering the price, we left feeling disappointed rather than impressed.

The hotel was beautifully designed in English style. It made a perfect get away from the heat as the weather on Cameron Highland was cooling. Staffs were friendly and helpful. My family enjoyed steamboat at the Gonbei at night and a high-tea at the Jim Thompson Tea Room. At breakfast, we enjoyed good breakfast with a view overlooking at a golf course. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and will come back again if we ever visit the Cameron Highlands again.
