Shanghai Jinjiang Metropolo East Nanjing Road Hotel，Off Bund

Due to the typhoon hitting Nanjing, heavy rain was predicted for two days. Half an hour before arrival, I quickly changed my plans, stayed on the high-speed rail past Nanjing, and bought an extra ticket to Shanghai. Aside from some strong winds, everything else was unaffected. Choosing the right hotel is incredibly important. This hotel, as always, was excellent. The service was warm and attentive, the air conditioning was strong, and the hot water was great. It's right next to the Peace Hotel, and you can see the Oriental Pearl Tower as soon as you step out. Every time I come to Shanghai with my kids to visit the Bund, I choose to stay here. It's super convenient to walk around and explore the area. There are lots of great restaurants nearby and excellent transport links, making it perfect for families.

Huge thanks to Li Fengming at the front desk for her help! The room we originally booked had a constant rumbling noise. When I called the front desk, I was told to bear with it, and that the noise would stop once the mall's outdoor units shut down after closing hours. I was pretty speechless by that response. Later that evening, I called the front desk again, and luckily, Li Fengming answered. She listened to the situation and immediately came to our room to check. She discovered it was the indoor air conditioner that was broken and indeed very loud, completely unrelated to the mall. She promptly helped us switch rooms. Otherwise, with two kids, I wouldn't have gotten any rest for three days and would have surely ended up arguing with the hotel about checking out, which would have ruined our trip. She solved a very annoying problem for me and made my trip go smoothly. I'm truly grateful! A hotel encapsulates the soul of a city within its rooms. It's more than just a place to sleep; it's a reflection of the city itself.

This hotel is really close to the Bund, which makes getting around super convenient. It's also easy to find and not far from the Peace Hotel. The front desk is on the second floor. We originally booked a windowless room, but paid a bit extra to upgrade to a room with a window, and it was totally worth it! The room itself was well-equipped, and since it was raining in Shanghai these past two days, they even had umbrellas ready for us. Having a window was great because we could see the Oriental Pearl Tower light up at night, which was beautiful. Downstairs is Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, with all sorts of delicious food and a lively atmosphere. We also checked out the famous 'Instagrammable' spiral escalator – it only goes up! Plus, there's a chocolate museum downstairs where we learned about cocoa cultivation and how chocolate is made. The hotel's breakfast buffet runs until 10 AM, so there's no rush in the morning. The shampoo and conditioner in the room were from Herborist, which was a nice touch. Transportation is also a breeze with buses and the metro close by. We visited Yu Garden, the Lujiazui 'Three-piece Suit' (iconic skyscrapers), the Disney Flagship Store, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and even took a ferry. Just a small suggestion: it would be great if the partition between the bathroom and the bed could be opaque. Getting up at night without turning on the lights to use the restroom, then coming out and getting a strange fright – even if it's just myself, it was a bit scary! 🤣

The facilities are dated. There's a musty smell in the rooms, hallways, and even at the reception on the second floor, probably because the building is old. When I entered the room, it felt like there were no windows; it was poorly ventilated and too dark. Staying alone, it felt a bit scary. What was peculiar was that upon entering, the first thing I saw was a large pink glass panel to the left of the bed and a huge mirror to the right, both facing the bed. **Cleanliness:** Clean and hygienic. **Environment:** The location is great, right in the heart of Shanghai's Bund area. Downstairs, there's a pedestrian street and the New World Daimaru department store, and the Peace Hotel is right next door. **Service:** The security guard at the entrance provided good, prompt service.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! Turn left out of the door and you're at the Bund, turn right and you're on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The staff were also wonderful and very welcoming. We arrived around 9 AM, planning to just drop off our luggage and head out, but the front desk proactively offered us an available room to check in early, which was a delightful surprise! The room was very clean, and even though it faced the street, the soundproofing was excellent – it wasn't noisy at all. Highly recommended!

The hotel's location is excellent, right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. It's incredibly convenient to get to The Bund, Yu Garden, City God Temple, and Oriental Pearl TV Tower. We especially enjoyed The Bund, walking there once during the day and again at night. The hotel breakfast is also great; it's a buffet with a good variety to suit different tastes.

The hotel's exterior and interior design perfectly capture the essence of Shanghai style. Its location is absolutely superb, just a few steps from The Bund, and getting around by subway is incredibly convenient. The breakfast was also quite good. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. All in all, a delightful trip!
