After visiting Monteverde five times, I am convinced that George is the best guide you will find in the area.
I used George as a guide for a solo trip a couple of years ago, and most recently while traveling in Costa Rica with my 15-month old and my mother and her two friends. George was so helpful with my baby, carrying my backpack while I carried my babe in a carrier. He was patient with my elderly mother and her friends, allowing us to rest and take a break when needed. He made sure our tours were accessible to my mom and her friends, while still seeing some of the most beautiful birds and animals. George was our guide for hanging bridges, a night tour, birding and a walk to the Continental Divide. He is a very talented photographer, so he will get great photos of you and your family and all of the beautiful things you see.
George is well-loved and respected in the community, which means when you come across other guides on your treks, they will tell him the location of where they have recently seen the hard to find animals, like the quetzal! Every time I visit Monteverde, I see new beautiful birds and animals because George is on top of his game. 🦜🌱🐍🌳🌙🦋★

they recommended us to hike the curi-cancha reserve as there is more wildlife to spot. Our guide Roy was very attentive and friendly. He is a truly expert with the flora and fauna in this region! He knew a answer on all questions we asked. Would recommend it allday!★

We came to Monteverde for a two day sister’s trip. I had read about the cloud forest before and I thought it was very unique and really wanted to make our first time in Costa Rica just focused in Monteverde.
Wow, you can enter into the curry concha reserve without a guide, I would highly recommend getting a guide. George came with a scope and binoculars. He taught us how to use binoculars. he took so many photos for us through the scope that we would never have had otherwise. We would never have even seen the birds that he pointed out. We were able to go to the transitional forest and into the cloud forest. I’m so glad we had this experience and even though it is pricier than doing it yourself, it is definitely worth it.★

Deyber was a great guide! Highly recommended! We saw a toucan, its nest, hummingbirds, quetzal, peccary, agouti, a leaf stick insect etc. All would have been absolutely impossible to spot on our own. Our guide really had a very good eye for finding these things, setting up the scope to see them and telling us a lot of background information about the animals, birds and forest. Even managed to get some great pictures from his scope!
