Reviews: Porto: Aveiro and Coimbra Day Tour with Moliceiro Boat Trip
Guest User2025-10-24
I booked this day trip from Porto with my 10 year old son. Our guide Chris was promptly on time on the day of the trip and we even left a little early. We visited Costa Nova first and walked around this nice little town known for its striped houses. Our second stop was in Aveiro, where we walked around the town and went on a boat trip. Our last stop was in Coimbra, where we also had some free time for lunch. We really enjoyed our trip and Christ was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and catered to our interests. My son called it one of the highlights of our trip.

Nelson was an OUTSTANDING guide. He arrived early and his van was very clean and comfortable. He is extremely knowledgeable about Fatima and the entire story of Our Lady of the Rosary. His attention to detail of the entire narrative was fantastic. He took us first to Fatima to see the shepherd children’s homes and explained in great detail the living conditions in 1916/17. We saw the two spots the Angle of Peace appeared and one of the spots where the apparition of Mary occurred. We then traveled to the Church in Fatima (his parish) and learned important details about the church and saw the baptismal fount of the shepherd children. We then traveled to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. He explained all the details both inside and outside of the Basilica. We then discussed the tree the shepherd children used to wait for Mary to appear and saw the Chapel of the Apparitions. Our final stop was the modern Basilica of the Trinity. Again, Nelson was very knowledgeable about the architectural designs and interesting details of the basilica. He provided us with a very complete and fact filled tour of the sites and story of Fatima. This was the best, most complete tour of the entire Fatima experience. Nelson gets our highest recommendation.
Reviews: Schist Villages at Lousa Mountain

This is tough...I could go on & on and on! This tour grounded me and was an elixir for my soul! My Guide, Alfredo was knowledgeable, kind, personable and you can tell he really loves doing this! (Apologies if I've misspelled your name, my friend.) As many other reviewers have mentioned, there will be many steps up and steps down. I kept up pretty good, but I always felt like my guide would be accommodating should I need a "moment". I felt a connection to the Villages, its Ancestors, towns people, shopkeepers and mostly ALFREDO by the time the tour ended. The tour ended a few hours ago and I'm still glowing.

Fun and exciting. The guide was very experienced in the region and took us to many under the radar locations. Lots of sightseeing and wildlife around the area, which is not crowded with tourists. Lovely restaurant as well. Definetly recommend.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and brought the Roman world and their building prowess to life. The museum was excellent both at the Poros museum and at Conimbriga.

Aveiro and Costa Nova Private Tour From Porto was awesome and our guide Nuno was great. He recommended a nice place to have lunch and made the reservation for us and we had a nice meal. Very cute coastal fishing towns.
