This trip taught me a valuable lesson: travel during the off-season. While Santorini in November was a bit chilly and many shops were closed, the lack of crowds made the island incredibly peaceful and comfortable. The flexible free time was excellent (provided I resisted the temptation of optional excursions), offering a relaxed yet adventurous experience (I got lost a few times while driving along the Santorini route). Everything was a novel and enjoyable experience. The only minor regret was that Turkey was only briefly visited; I only explored Istanbul and missed many of Turkey's famous landmarks. A more in-depth trip to Turkey in the future is definitely in order. PS: It was great that there was no shopping in Greece. The two shopping trips in Turkey were a bit of a waste of time; the same locations could have been combined into one trip.★

Day 1: Taoyuan - Yilan (Photos at Jimmy Park + local breakfast on the train)
Yilan - Shoufeng (Using an Uber with a NT$300 discount to Ideal Land
Starbucks coffee)
Shoufeng - Chishang (Ubike ride around Dapo Pond & Brown Avenue)
Chishang - Taitung (Local express train, overnight stay at Tiehua Village)
Day 2: Taitung - Jinlun (round trip)
(Visit the observation deck for views of the Jinlun Bridge and the seascape, enjoy local cuisine, visit a unique church, enjoy the sea at Jinlun Coast, and if time permits, soak in the saltwater hot springs. Return to Taitung for rest in the afternoon, and visit Tiehua Village for live music in the evening)
Day 3: Taitung - Kaohsiung (Using the Kaohsiung MRT + Light Rail free pass to explore Kaohsiung + eat at Dan Dan Burger)

Had a really enjoyable day trip exploring Tainan Cigu Mountain, the salt fields and Sicao River.
Sicao River was quite an experience and something different from the usual sightseeing. We went for brunch first, so unfortunately we only reached around noon when the sun was really hot. Would probably be better to go earlier in the morning.
We were a little disappointed that we couldn’t climb Cigu Mountain as it was closed for maintenance, but hopefully we’ll get the chance next time. I’m sure the view would have been amazing!
The salt field was definitely our favourite part of the trip. The scenery was beautiful and it was great for sightseeing and taking photos.
Overall, the whole trip was very smooth and comfortable. Having a private tour was especially convenient for our group, as we had elderly family members travelling with us. No rushing around and we could enjoy the places at ourTrip.com picks
