Trenčín Castle: The history of the castle dates back to the Roman Empire era, according to Roman records from 179 AD. In the middle of the 13th century, the castle was the seat of Baron Jagabus Cesene, the sword-bearer of King Béla IV. In the late 13th-14th centuries, the castle became the residence of Matthew III Csák.
