We had originally planned to drive there with my dad, but he had something urgent to do, so we took the high-speed train with the kids this time! 🚄 It took 1.5 hours to get from Guangzhou East Station to Heyuan East Station. After exiting the station, we took an online taxi for about 50 RMB and arrived at the Palm Tree Hotel lobby in 30 minutes. 🏨 After checking in, the staff helped with our luggage and walked us to our room. Along the way, they explained the park's attractions. The room also provided welcome fruit, children's toiletries, bathrobes, and a toilet. The family-friendly service was excellent! We rested up for a bit before heading out to play! Our first stop was Dinosaur Island Water Park. 🦕 It has nine themed areas: waterfall surfing, shallow water play, cave slides, stream cascades, canyon adventure, pool play, coconut grove waterfalls, stalactite forest, and deep pool rainforest. Our favorite was the cave slide. The water was ankle-deep for adults, and there were safety officers watching from below, reminding the children to keep their feet together to prevent injury. Second stop: Dragon Bone Water Park & Loach Catching (First session at 4:00 PM, Second session at 5:00 PM) We arrived at the water park at 2:00 PM and started playing. Around 3:30 PM, we started reminding the kids to catch loaches! We got up from the water park around 3:45 PM. Without changing, we wrapped ourselves in towels and walked directly from the water park to the adjacent Dragon Bone Park. We dried our hair and swimsuits on the way, letting them air out. At 4:00 PM, the event started promptly. A staff member brought a bucket of loaches and dumped them into the water. A swarm of loaches swam out and scattered, and the kids screamed and shrieked. At first, without a scoop net, catching them with our bare hands was a bit difficult. The slippery loaches swam incredibly fast, but eventually we had to use the scoop net. Every time we caught one, the kids screamed with joy. The loaches can be taken away to feed the ducks in the lake. We didn't have a bucket, so we gave all the loaches to the kid next to us who had one. After catching the loaches, the sun was getting a bit less intense. As we were about to head down the mountain, we headed to Dragon Bone Park to enjoy the non-powered attractions: climbing nets, a rotating slide, jumping nets, zip lines, sand dredging... By the end, the kids were already hungry! Back at the hotel, we showered, changed, and headed out for dinner. Dinner was at the First Canteen, featuring mostly Hakka cuisine, but also offering roast meats, snacks, desserts, and congee, noodles, and rice. It cost just over 50 yuan for one adult and one child, a decent value. After dinner, it was getting dark, and the kids were feeling sleepy after their meals, so we headed back to the hotel to rest and fell asleep quickly. We missed the romantic valley fireworks at 9 p.m. every night! [Crying R] (Cancelled due to rain). Third stop: Infinity Pool, Valley Hot Springs, and Sauna♨️ After breakfast, we walked out to the lawn to take photos of the big green apples. The weather was perfect, and any photo was stunning. After a half-hour rest, we headed to the pool! There were shallow and deep areas, and after a swim in the hot springs♨️, soaking in the lakeside scenery was so relaxing! Due to time constraints, we had to return to the hotel around 10:30 to pack and check out. September 5th-30th is the Valley Autumn Flavor Festival in Chunmuyuan Town. There are special events every Friday and Saturday, including lawn concerts, autumn-themed long-table banquets, and bonfire parties. Time is limited, so next time I visit, I'll stay at a resort that's perfect for three days.
