不帅不酷又矮没钱的大叔During my recent trip to Shanxi, I visited several ancient cities. Although many of the ancient cities we see today are rebuilt later, Datong Ancient City does have many historical sites worth visiting! Huayan Temple, Prince Dai's Mansion, Shanhua Temple, the Nine Dragon Wall, and many others are all historical relics well worth seeing. Therefore, I suggest that you allocate more time to Datong, a city full of cultural heritage!

蓉归故里Huayan Temple is a treasure trove of Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasty architecture still existing in China. It is also a must-see scenic spot when visiting Datong. The Buddha statues inside the temple are magnificent and exquisite, and it is well worth a visit. The only downside is that there are a lot of tourists during the summer vacation.

格林希尔德Because it wasn't peak tourist season, there were very few tourists. The entrance fee is ten yuan (if you really want to save money, you can see a rough view from the street through the railing, but I recommend going in to appreciate it more carefully). The nine dragons 🐉🐲 are incredibly lifelike, each with its own expression, color, and posture. But if you look closely, you'll find that each dragon is arranged in an "up-down-up-down..." order, perhaps telling us that the ups and downs of life are normal. If dragons are like this, how much more so are humans! I suggest taking pictures of each dragon and looking at them at your leisure, and comparing them with the Nine-Dragon Wall in Beihai Park, Beijing. It's quite an experience! One thing to note: the dragons here don't have five claws! The reason is obvious…

唐小满This small but beautiful ancient temple offers a tranquil space to admire its wooden architecture and Buddhist murals, bringing a sense of peace to the soul. The advantage of traveling during the off-season is having ample time and freedom of choice.

Datong is not only resplendent with its ancient architecture, but also its underground cultural relics. I was particularly struck by the museum's treasures, which were truly stunning.

BillGetsThe young lady at the entrance was very helpful and told me I could book tickets through Ctrip. The discounted price on Ctrip was enviable, haha. In winter, there were only three vehicles in the entire scenic area: one carrying a couple, another carrying young people taking photos in spacesuits, and myself. Today, Inner Mongolia had its first snowfall in a long time; the combination of volcanic ash, yellow grass, and white snow created a unique landscape. We photographed Volcano No. 8, and then visited Volcanoes No. 6 and No. 3, finishing in two hours.

M52***52I was a little disappointed after taking bus 92 to the Chulechuan Grassland stop. There was no grassland, just a desolate meadow with very short, dry grass. In the distance, I saw a building that looked like a yurt, went inside for a quick look, took a photo with a sculpture of a Mongolian beauty, and then came out via a road near the mountains. There was a bus stop for bus 115 by the roadside. After waiting a while, the bus arrived (it came from the Red Education Base), and I rode for two stops before finally reaching the core scenic area! It was breathtaking! Grasslands, towering green mountains, and babbling rivers were all within easy reach, a truly beautiful sight. The only downside was that I didn't see any horses or sheep. For the return trip, I first took bus 115 to the Red Education Base, then transferred to bus 92. Bus 115 is a suburban bus, running approximately every hour, so be mindful of your travel time. No entrance fee is required.
4.5/5Anonymous userThe sunset is beautiful, the alpine grassland is stunning, the scenic area is very convenient to drive by, the ticket is still a bit expensive, the scenery is still better in summer. Navigate to Tianci Grassland and drive all the way up. When you see the sign of Sky Grassland, go a little higher and you can watch the sunset. Remember to bring a down jacket
