The colors are marvelous and the place huge you might be tired to walk to much around. Unfortunately drones are not allowed I guess because of the helicopter and hot air balloon
The sunset was beautiful; the setting sun cast a unique glow on the colorful Danxia landforms. It was just so crowded! 🤣 By the time we came out it was past 9 pm. I guess there are just so many people traveling during summer vacation!

This film area is a bit special. The white salt field looks like snow shadows, which is very beautiful. However, once you get to the film area, you have to pay extra for almost every attraction. You can't move an inch without paying.
This place is absolutely (possibly the most) worthy of its hype and online popularity on the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop. It's breathtakingly beautiful, like a fairyland. Just be mindful of the weather (cloudy days will significantly diminish the scenery) and be careful about water (although there are shoe covers for going into the lake, leaks can still occur).

[A Perfect Trip That Far Exceeded Expectations! The Driver Made the Entire Trip Shine]
Just finished a day trip to Qinghai Lake from Xining, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! I have to give it a super five-star review!
Our route today was the classic one: Ta'er Monastery - Riyue Mountain - Lajishan Mountain - Erlangjian Scenic Area of Qinghai Lake. We had an evening flight, so the entire experience was top-notch! This is largely thanks to our driver, Mr. Han!
Mr. Han was incredibly kind and patient throughout the trip. We could easily communicate with him about any needs, making us feel very comfortable. He wasn't just a driver; he was more like a knowledgeable guide. The itinerary wasn't just a mechanical rush. While ensuring safety, he would stop at particularly scenic spots to let us get out and enjoy the views and take photos. This flexibility made the trip full of surprises.
We were incredibly lucky today! We saw adorable foxes and playful pikas by the roadside, and the driver even slowed down so we could observe them – it was so interesting!
I also want to praise the vehicle: it was spacious and clean, completely free of smoke, and he proactively adjusted the air conditioning temperature and reminded us to put on extra layers for protection from the wind. The car was very comfortable. The driver even proactively told us about local precautions and lightning safety tips, which was very thoughtful.
In short, it was a perfect day trip! Everything we wanted to see and do was fully satisfied, making the entire trip relaxing and enjoyable. If you're visiting Qinghai Lake, I highly recommend choosing this driver's team; it will definitely enhance your trip!

Since ancient times, Sun and Moon Mountain has been a crucial mountain pass along the Qinghai Road of the Silk Road, the Tang-Tibet Road, and the Tea-Horse Road. Legend has it that Princess Wencheng, while traveling through this area on her marriage to Tubo, cast aside the Sun and Moon Mirror to overcome her homesickness, hence the name Sun and Moon Mountain. This area also marked the boundary between the Tang and Tubo regions, and was the site of important historical events such as the Chiling Trade.

It's alright. Since it's in the city center, you can stop by the Giant Buddha Temple on the way to Mati Temple. The main attraction is the reclining giant Buddha; the rest is so-so, it depends on your personal preference. But I don't know much about this kind of history, so I don't have much to say.
The Zhangye Giant Buddha Temple is definitely worth a visit. The main hall houses the largest indoor wooden and clay reclining Buddha in Asia. The Buddha's serene expression conveys a sense of peace that comes with the passage of time.

The hotel does not have a navigation system, so it is best to ask the hotel staff before going. The staff was very attentive and even upgraded us to a larger RV for free, which was very nice (｡•̀ᴗ-)
Weather is crucial! The scenery in Chaka is dramatically different on sunny and cloudy days. Check the weather forecast carefully; if it's cloudy or rainy, don't hesitate!
When taking photos at the salt lake, wear shoe covers. 1. Bring your own or rent them at the scenic area. The shoe covers you bring shouldn't be too short; ideally, they should be above the knee.
Also, bring sunglasses, sun protection clothing, and a sun hat. Ultraviolet rays are very strong, making it difficult to keep your eyes open when taking photos.

The Aerospace City is great. We met at 9 am and ended around 4 pm. The meeting point was at the entrance of the tourist center. We needed to hand in our ID and fill out a confidentiality agreement. Once inside, we could get up close and personal with many "real things," and history came alive. It's very large, and you need to take a shuttle bus. The girl who gave the tour was good, but some spots require luck. The cemetery was not open this time, which was a pity. Overall, it's a great place for patriotic education.
It is worth learning here. Bringing my child here to experience the difficulty of my country's aerospace construction and development is also a dream of mine. It is really good, but you must strictly abide by the relevant visiting regulations. An unforgettable trip will surely affect your child's life!
