The scenery in Qilian is stunning!
What a shame about the grottoes! The murals and statues have been damaged, but the remaining fragments reveal the exquisite "blue-green" paintings of the Western Xia Dynasty.
The Thousand Buddha Caves are also closed, so we can only relive them from the past.
The most beautiful part, however, is the first stop, the Thousand Buddha Caves. It's worth taking a leisurely stroll and admiring.
We spent 33 days just checking in, leaving only the grottoes.
It was raining and snowing on the day we went there, but the scenery was really nice. Later, the rain and snow stopped, and the fog cleared. The scenery was really beautiful. The steps were really steep, and some caves could only be passed by one person. I admired the wisdom of the ancients. It was harder to climb than the Mogao Grottoes, but it was definitely worth a visit.

Zhangye Binggou Danxia is absolutely stunning! The crimson cliff pillars, with their unique shapes, resemble a natural art palace. The scenic area is well-equipped and the staff are friendly. The scenery is beautiful and the crowds are few. Strolling through it feels like being in a dreamland. Absolutely amazing!

I feel that among all the attractions in Zhangye, Alien Valley has the best value for money. The various weathered rock structures are of different shapes and colors. It is so unique. It feels like you are out of the earth when you play there. This experience is full of happiness.
The scenery is very stunning, integrating the diverse landforms of Danxia, Binggou Danxia, and Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon. It is vast and spectacular. You can use a drone to take pictures, and the effect must be amazing! The scenic area is a bit far away, so you need to drive there.
