We finally made it! Our Egypt Tour was cancelled in 2011. After 5 years of waiting, we are so happy to be here in Egypt. There are other Pyramids in Africa but the ones in Giza and Sakkara are the ones we wanted to visit. And we were not disappointed. Tourism in Cairo is currently down so there were less tourist traffic in the early morning of our tour. Our Local Tourist Guide showed Cheops Pyramid first. She asked us if we&#39;re interested to climb up to see the empty sarcophagus inside. It cost &pound;200 Egyptian pounds per person but it was worth the cost and effort to be able to say that we have entered inside the famous and tallest Pyramid in Egypt. My husband just turned 70 this year and so this was a test of his fitness. The steps are wooden boards with metal bars to stop you from slipping. The passage through gets lower as you get closer so the issue is that you climb bent over even if you are short like me (5&#39;2&quot;). As we reached the climax with an empty sarcophagus, I knew that my exalted mood will have to deal with the same way of going down with our bended back. However, we made it and worth our trip from Australia down under. The trouble now is the aching thighs after &quot;Walking like an Egyptian&quot; through the low passage of the Pyramid. No photography allowed! I can&#39;t imagine myself taking photos and bending while holding tightly on the hand rails. Highly recommended for fit and creepy crawlers. Have fun and enjoy the experience.
