河下老灶在河下古镇的南入口不远处，东侧就是闻思寺。这家的风格像是明清时代的店铺，应该是老字号，有不少的年头了。座椅都比较简单，桌子是石头上面搭上一层木板，椅子就是普通的长板凳，看起来比较朴素。这里主要是吃大锅的。锅真的比较大，可以吃三鲜的，可以吃排骨，还有牛杂和鸭子还有草鸡，整个一个农家菜的感觉。不过鱼锅应该是这里最有特色的了，看到好几桌都点的这个锅。小鱼贴饼也算是比较流行的菜了，大江南北吃的还真不少，不过像这里分量这么大的还真不多见。鱼在中间，饼在锅边上，就着小鱼来吃饼，还是比较惬意的。这里名气不算大，比大名鼎鼎的文楼差远了，不过优势是这里的整体的消费价格不算高，文楼的蟹黄包子要40元一个，这里人均四十元基本就能吃饱了。
