麒麟阁是平遥古城内比较大型的酒店，紧靠城隍庙，距离城内景点都不远，出入非常方便。酒店自带的餐厅，风格古典，但装修的色调偏暗，用餐时有种沉闷的感觉。准四星的标准，卫生环境是可以的，但上的菜，碟子大，美观，可份量不多，口味中规中矩。

文庙对面一家酒店里面的餐厅，外表看上去很高大上，不知道是不是因为这样，吃饭的人非常少，春节期间整个大厅居然只有两三桌，而且还可以用团购，即使不用团购，菜价也很经济，一点不比古城大街上的小吃店贵，菜的分量很足，平遥牛肉满满一大碟，开始以为按照一般的套路下面肯定是蔬菜垫底，没想到居然全是牛肉。这里环境清幽舒适，菜品味道好，是在平遥古城很推荐的一家饭店。
