InterContinental Hotels PRESIDENTE CANCUN RESORT by IHG

While the Caribbean scenery is beautiful, the hotel's facilities are truly subpar. The lighting is incredibly dim, the bathroom fixtures are rusty, and the curtains are torn. The telephone on the nightstand is yellowed and looks like it's 20 years old...

My experience at the InterContinental Cancun fell far short of five-star standards, feeling even worse than a budget hotel back home. All the fixtures and appliances throughout the hotel were already 30 years old, and the bathroom was so cramped there was barely room to stand. In-room accessories and the telephone were outdated models from decades ago, and the minibar was completely missing. The TV was mounted crookedly, mirrors were heavily rusted, and scuffs and dents were visible everywhere on the tiles, floors, and furniture surfaces. The overall facilities were severely dilapidated. I struggle to understand why the InterContinental brand would endorse such a hotel. This stay was an absolutely terrible experience.

This is the worst InterContinental I've ever stayed at. For 2000 RMB a night, the room had no soundproofing, and it felt like I was sleeping on the road since it was right next to it. Both check-in and check-out were a mess; they kept mixing up my reservation and my identity. Especially at check-out, they handed me a bill for over $600, claiming it was mine. I told them I hadn't made any such purchases and asked to see my signature. Only then did they reconfirm my room number and realize they had made a mistake. So, definitely avoid this place.

The service was terrible, and the noise level in the room at night was completely disproportionate to the price. My complaints were ignored, and I felt discriminated against as a Chinese person.
