I was looking for a place to sleep after a late-night flight, and although the location wasn't great, this place seemed clean and could accommodate all four of us. The reviews on Trip.com were decent, but other sites had almost no booking history or reviews, so I was a bit hesitant. My only wish was for it to be clean and bug-free, especially with kids. Unfortunately, we found a lot of ants. Not just a few, but really a lot. We arrived very late, almost 1 AM. Check-in was done via Trip.com's 1:1 chat, where they informed me that the lobby would be empty and provided the room number and instructions to find the key inside. So, despite the empty lobby, we got into our room fine. We quickly tried to wash up, but there was no hot water. The kids couldn't even wash their hair, just their hands and feet, and the adults barely managed a quick rinse before going to bed. Asking about hot water in the middle of the night wasn't an option. The room size was decent, and the bedding wasn't bad. We managed to sleep, but the next morning, I noticed a few small bugs on the single bed's bedding. After killing them, I lifted the bedding to find a huge number of ants underneath. The kids screamed, it was chaos! They were marching in lines from the vanity area. So, we checked out early. Amidst all this, for such a cheap price, they even offered breakfast... and the breakfast was surprisingly well-prepared. My picky second child ate a whole bowl of spaghetti. The staff member was friendly and even came up to check the hot water before we left, but we were already checking out, so we just left. If it weren't for the ants, it would have been a great place for a quick stay for a family of four at a very affordable price.

If you're looking for a clean, new, and affordable hotel in Phu Quoc, I think Hygg Hotel is a highly recommendable option. What I liked most is that the hotel is quite new, so the rooms are very clean. The design is simple but bright, with large windows letting in natural light. The room size is just right for two people, and everything feels brand new. The bathroom is also clean, with stable hot water – very comfortable for a stay of several days. What surprised me most was the price. I booked four nights for only about 1,500,000 VND (roughly 58 USD), which works out to less than 400,000 VND per night. For the quality of the room, I found it to be excellent value, especially if you prioritize a clean place to stay over a resort with many amenities. The hotel also offers motorbike rentals for 150,000 VND per day, and you can pick up the bike right at the hotel, which is very convenient for exploring the island on your own. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the central Duong Dong area. If you want to eat out or enjoy the entertainment in the center, it will take a little extra travel time. However, on the upside, this area is much quieter. Right near the hotel is Sonasea Night Market. Personally, I found the market quite modern and geared more towards tourists, so it didn't offer much of a local feel. However, if you go a little further, there's Sunset Point, which I absolutely loved. Going there in the evening to watch the sunset, listen to the waves, and chill for a while made the trip feel much more worthwhile. It wasn't too crowded or chaotic, and it felt very relaxing. If you want to save on accommodation costs to free up your budget for food and experiences, I think Hygg Hotel is a very solid choice. It offers an affordable price, clean rooms, motorbike rentals, and is close to one of my favorite sunset spots in Phu Quoc.

Had a wonderful and relaxing 5-day stay. It's perfect for a quiet getaway. Enjoyed the delicious and thoughtfully prepared breakfast every morning. I'll definitely be back if I visit Phu Quoc again. The staff were also very kind and helpful.

I stayed at Hygg Hotel Phu Quoc and was completely satisfied. The hotel is, of course, modest and lacks five-star luxury, but it does its job excellently. Most importantly, there are absolutely no issues with service or accommodation here. The rooms are perfectly clean, the plumbing and air conditioning work flawlessly, and housekeeping is done diligently. The staff is very pleasant and responsive, always ready to help. Check-in was quick and seamless. Breakfasts are simple but hearty and genuinely tasty – you definitely won't go hungry in the morning. The grounds and pool are neat and well-maintained. The location in the Marina Square area is quite good and peaceful. For its category, this is an excellent, honest option where you get a comfortable and quiet stay without unpleasant surprises for a reasonable price. I recommend it!
