Hotel Mi Rochor

It was my first time staying at this hotel in Singapore. I read online that it's a classic property with Chinese-speaking front desk staff. The location is super convenient, right next to the subway station, making it easy to get anywhere. However, the room is on the smaller side—we had to push the two beds together just to find space for our suitcases. That said, it was quite clean, and overall, it's a pretty good choice for Singapore.

Right. There is zero flexibility with early check-in. Even though they have a paid policy, they didn't inform us about it and made a huge deal out of doing us a “favor.” They first demanded 50 Hong Kong Dollars, then acted like they were being so generous by charging us 30 Singapore Dollars instead. They told us to come back at 11 AM, but when we did, it seemed like no handover was done—they had no idea what we were talking about and treated us like we were crazy. Because of one rude male staff member, our impression of Singapore hit rock bottom. A construction site view, a sandy and gritty floor, only two towels, and a tiny, tiny room... We will never stay here again.

This hotel is very close to Exit A of MRT Rochor Station—just a 3-5 minute walk. The front desk staff were quite polite and helpful. The price isn't high, so the facilities are rather basic. There is a filtered water tap right at the sink in the room, so you can fill your own cup; I drank it for 3 days and was completely fine! Choosing this room type was a great decision as it features large floor-to-ceiling windows with a nice view. However, the soundproofing is really poor! Also, the air conditioning turns off automatically whenever you leave the room.

Other than the room being a bit small, everything was faultless. Special shoutout to Helen at the front desk—she was exceptionally helpful and attentive. Thumbs up!

Convenient location, just a few minutes' walk to the subway station and not far from the bus stop either. There is a 7-Eleven and several restaurants downstairs, and there are a decent number of food delivery options on Grab. However, the room is very small. I was upgraded to a triple room, but it was already cramped just opening up my single suitcase.
